Saturns are horrible. Don't buy one-these cars are garbage. What's worse, they had the potential to be awesome. Saturn started from scratch and had its own culture of caring, yet had the pockets of General Motors-the biggest company on Earth at the time-at its disposal. Saturn could have made a car that changed the way we think about small cars, but ended up making the worst car I have ever owned. Considering that my first car cost me $300, that is really saying something.
If Wolfgang Puck served cold Easy Mac with prior knowledge that it was contaminated with e coli, his patrons would be almost as disappointed as I am with this atrocity.

That car is old, high mileage, and clearly used hard judging by how filthy and broken it is. Take care of the next car. Not saying Saturns are great quality cars (they're not), but no matter what car you buy, if you treat it like crap, it'll return the favor.

That saturn must have been rode hard and put away wet because mine is great , it's a 1996 with 290k miles on it. They need to be well cared for and have maintenance done on them. Somebody who didn't know shit about cars must have owned it before you. Now i do agree with you on the interior of Saturns they are cheaper than a half off sale at the dollar store

If it's any help I just picked up a '99 Corolla for $950. It won't win any beauty contests but it's solid as a rock. There are good cars out there selling for next to nothing. Good luck!

I had a 2001 Saturn SL2 I got in 2006 with 79,500 miles and it was alright for about the first year. Then afterwards it just started falling apart, even with how well I cared for it and kept on top of the maintenance. Mine had all the same issues besides maybe four or five.

First off it an economy car second it's an old car things are going to wear out you're going to have to replace them that's just a fact of life with any car and third if you just took care of it it probably wouldn't be that bad because I have a 2002 Saturn SL1 74k miles and it's perfect and if it's close to 300,000 miles it's just near the end of it's life because cars are usually meant to last 300,000 miles if you take care of them, and you shouldn't judge a brand by one car.

I'm judging the brand based on the four different S-Series models that my family has had. The ones my sister and I had-both of which we maintained-disintegrated right around 140K. And they felt like they were made by Fisher-Price. Meanwhile, the Toyotas our family has had have all made it well past 200k with NO MAJOR PROBLEMS at all. The Toyota I have right now has 265K on it and runs like brand new. Toyotas are better than Saturns. Period.

And I'm sure yours is still pretty reliable because it only has 74K. When it gets to 120-130K, get rid of it because it will not last long past that.

They were manufactured for 25 years without a profit.. Can't understand why people are dumb enough to buy their cars in the first place. Listening to how that door sounds when you shut it, tells all. LOL!

("Saturd")...Exactly. Saturn really kicked the crap out of the Japanese cars didn't they..NOT. Just another of GM's many failed attempts at making reliable cars. They should go back to the mid 70's and examine what the did to seriously fuck up their manufacturing practices as all their cars and trucks were plagued with problems after the mid 70's.

Okay, here's an update-the engine went out for the third time at 180,000 miles. I'm driving a Toyota Camry with 240,000 miles and EVERYTHING on it works. And stuff doesn't fall off of it as I drive along. It's funny, because the same car also saved my sister from HER Saturn when it disintegrated at about 150,000 miles, so you may be able to see a pattern here. I have had a wide range of vehicles-VW, Mazda, Jeep, BMW, Isuzu-and most of them had over 200,000 miles (The BMW had about 400.000 miles on it when it got rear-ended), so I am used to vehicles that last. There's a reason Toyota is doing well and GM went bankrupt.

I junked it. The engine went out again, the electrical system totally glitched out, the clutch hydraulics went out, and the car only had 170,000 on it. So I said forget it and got a Toyota. 240k and still runs perfectly-and all original 😃

I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. I would also like to point out that Toyota isn't my favorite brand-that would probably be Mazda (if price were no object, it would be BMW). But that's not even the point of this comment-what I'm saying is that my family has a history with multiple examples of both the Saturn S-series and the Toyota Camry. The Saturns were both one-owner cars before we got them (the first with only 38,000 miles and neither one could make it to 150,000 miles without a major issue. Meanwhile, the Camrys all made it well past the 200,000 mile mark with no issue worse than a shorted-out seat belt sensor (caused by a spilled cup of coffee). Even their air conditioners still worked perfectly. My BMW had about 400,000 miles on it when it got rear-ended, and it had literally had the crap beaten out of it every single day. My Mazda had 210,000 miles on it when I sold it, and it still ran like a brand-new car (I still kick myself for selling it). The garage I used to work at had an old Toyota Pickup with about 500,000 miles on it, and it started the first time, every time (even after sitting for a couple of weeks). I know what a "good" car is, and the Saturn S-series is not one.

It’s funny though because the car is already falling apart and he’s literally breaking it and making it worse while he’s filming. He probably wasn’t the original owner and from what I can see on the inside, it’s filthy. Even if he is the original owner, it looks like he hasn’t taken care of his car at all. If he doesn’t like it, just fucking sell it and stop complaining about it.

Charlie Lainez The Sky is an Opel GT with a Saturn badge super glued onto it. It’s not actually a Saturn. Opel also designed and engineered the Aura and the Astra. And it’s true that the Opel-designed models were pretty good. I’m talking about the vehicles actually designed and engineered by Saturn themselves.

YOU ARE SO WRONG SATURNS ARE THE BEST AND THE MOST RELIEABLE CAR EVER BUILT HAVE A 1997 SATURN SC1 GREAT CAR
@williammcleod7585
@williammcleod7585 7 жыл бұрын
At 180,000 my SC2 had problems with the brakes, clutch hydraulics, electrical system-and the engine burned its third exhaust valve and was using a quart of oil every 2 days. Now I have a Toyota Camry. ironically, it used to be my sister's car-my parents handed it over to her when her 97 SC1 disintegrated at 140,000. My Toyota has 260,000 miles on it and it runs like a brand new car-and has saved two different people from two different Saturn SCs which both completely fell apart with well under 200,000 miles.
