@@leahowlett5525 de-yassification means that the My Scene characters here look “less good” compared to their earlier designs- it comes from the root word “yassification”, which means to give someone or something a make-over/enhance the appearance of something. So adding the “-de” prefix before “yassification” means “to make something look worse than before” But if you like the way the My Scene characters look here that’s ok! I have a nostalgic attachment to their original designs so I think those looked better

Same , but there was a lawsuit, ( or something like that )because Barbie is trademark and they weren’t allowed to use Barbie anymore . As to what happened to Nolee, I have no idea . Honestly I liked the original myscene

But after some R&D friction where it came to light that people who did not like Bratz were also likely to dislike Myscene, they absconded Barbie and replaced her with Kennedy to keep Barbie's squeaky clean image.

I've never watched this version and i was so pissed because it looks like a walmart version of bratz (keep in mind i was still a bratz fan back then and still am in my 20's) the 2000's version is better. When I saw Kennedy years ago, I thought she was Barbie's half sister, kinda like Herb Powell was to Homer Simpson. And I thought Margaret, Barbie's mom, dated another man before George and had Kennedy with the other man but no, Kennedy is Jazzie's younger sister and cousin of Barbie and her sisters, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea. I wish Mattel could have revealed Barbie's Family tree so her entire family could be revealed.

This animation and artstyle is so much cuter than the older ones in my opinion both are so iconic! The only flaw is the lack of diversity when it comes to the later years of my scene.

I''m sorry I really hate brunette Delancey & who tf is Parker? What happened to Ellis?? Nia & Kennedy were new adds but they don't make up for the loss of Barbie & Nolee plus the OG girls feel so out of character. Since when are Madison and Chelsea insecure nervous wrecks?? The same Madison that was ready to fight over a top, co-starred w/ Lindsay Lohan on a whim, & successfully managed a band...the same Chelsea who already had several successful fashion shows, sold her work at the flea market, and could make an outfit within a subway ride...even without the drastic style change, these are not the same girls.

To anyone wondering why Barbie has seemingly been replaced by some chick named Kennedy: It was solely an executive decision. My Scene was receiving too much criticism from angry parents about how “whorish” the dolls looked, so they decided to completely distance Barbie (their most lucrative cash cow) from the My Scene brand all together, as to not taint her clean “good girl” image. Rip yassified Barbie 🪦💔
