Glad to hear that people are recognizing it is the core (blank) material affecting stiffness / flex. One of the competitors at the WSL finals has his boards shaped in PU and glassed in epoxy - so stiffer but more durable. In reality polyester resin is quite stiff / brittle which is why it dings so easily. Epoxy is more flexible which makes it more damage resistant. It will be interesting to see where board design goes next! Thanks for the very comprehensive analysis!

Absolutely. Carbon is pretty hot on the market right now, I would love to give one of these a crack soon!

Did you ever find a LOST model that is a better groveler? What was it about the board that makes you want a better groverler? Was it slow, stiff?

Ive ridden pretty much the same boards as you over the past few years, seaside, go fish, glazer plus too fish. I dont know what it is about firewires but they're just not working for me anymore so im going back to lost shapes. I've had a custom rad ripper made as didn't want to ride a stock long thin version. Mine is 5'4 x 19 3/4 x 2 3/8 in lightspeed. I honestly cant wait till it turns up next week. Going to be my summer board here in the UK. I hope it paddles just as well as some of those wider/shorter firewires. Be interested to know if you prefer it as a thruster or quad.

I have only surfed it as a thruster, and I love it, so I won't be trying it as a quad. Great choice mate, after a small adjustment period I couldn't get off of it!
