Absolutely agree with this. Probably as much as I agree with the one about extra fast rods. I think the younger generation of anglers were deprived in ways by not being around for the style of equipment back in the day. All reaction type baits were fished on medium rods with more of moderate fast action back then

I have been using different nail polish colors for years. That way you can use the semi clear colors and get some muted flash. There’s like 6 million colors to choose from too lol. Tons of different glitter colors too. I live in upstate NY near Champlain and I’ve used a ton of black and purple toned spinnerbaits. June bug type colors always work great up here because we don’t have shad as the major forage species.

This is a seriously underrated thing. I've got a box full of Picasso, Nichols and several JDM spinnerbaits with funky colored blades. I like the ones where only one side of blade is painted the best. I use them and big inline spinnerbaits, like the Snagless Sally from Hildebrandt, for those awkward times around shallow cover when a regular spinnerbait has too flash and a vibrating jig has too much vibration. Sounds like I need expand on when/where I'm using them. Thanks for the video!

Great tip. Love my sharpies. Spinner baits have the greatest potential for mods. Nichols makes some darker factory skirts and blades. Walleye fisherman love custom painted everything..... including Colorado and Willow blades for their crawler harness rigs. A brief look at any walleye blade selection will reveal numerous good color options for bass fishing...... shhh.... don't tell the walleye guys this. Lol. Not sure about WI, MN region but here in Michigan dirty water lake Erie creates a huge custom color market for walleye gear. Thanks for the vid keep up the great work.
@MattStefanFishing3 жыл бұрын

@@MattStefanFishing I can speak to this from a Michigan perspective..... Walleye and Bass fisherman have fairly defined divide between them, sure some Anglers fish both species. The hard-core walleye and hard core bass Anglers are divided here in Michigan. I spent the last 6 seasons focused just on walleye from Alpena MI to Cleveland OH and it makes me shake my head with the disparity between the two groups. Especially when the reality is both species are predators and share numerous common denominators. Oh well, can't change everyone's mind. I'm done chasing walleye going back to my roots of bass fishing for the 2nd half of my life starting this season. Appreciate your content and straight forward approach. Keep up the great work.
