Couple Things... - I’m not here to insinuate or say that you need to work for a big company to be successful in your career. You might like small, big, startup, agency, corporate, etc...to each their own! - However, by getting the chance to work for a well-known company, it does come with a certain amount of prestige, credibility, and public image. And to me, that's just a fact, whether you want that attention or not. And with that higher level of attention, it might be easier for you to get noticed. - the word successful is very subjective to each person, so I’m not here to say its my way or the highway or that you have to do everything I did in order to be considered “successful.” - The main purpose of this video is to explain that networking is a very powerful tool and it can get you far in your career and life. It can increase your luck and put you in better positions. Thank you!

I'm not even 3 minutes into the video and I already agree with you 100%. You create your own luck by putting yourself out there. The more people know and recognize you, the easier it is to get the job you want. Awesome video as always my guy. Love the realness and I think more people need to view this content.

My favorite part is you reaching out to your UX Design friends again and again. Networking in my definition is building your avengers team is a long game. And at the end of the day, if you invest in it well and for a long time it becomes a competitive edge. My only question is though, how was your expression when your interviewer did that much research on you? Because the more famous you get on youtube, the more people you will meet in your career who knows you but you don't know them and that might be awkward :D

Love what you're adding to the conversation Ahmet! Great network leads to long-term connection, which can quickly carry you forward in your career! I was definitely surprised, in a good way, when my KZbin channel was mentioned. Putting yourself out there definitely helps people to get a glimpse into who you are and what you're like.

It really does make everything a lot easier when you're in the job-hunting process, and it sets you up in better positions. It just takes a little extra boldness, drive, and confidence, and then you'd be surprised why you didn't do it sooner. Thank you, and best of luck in your UX journey!

I have worked for a small company for 10 years doing UX / IT / Graphic design, sadly the owner sold the company and at 43 years old my CV looks terrible and my portfolio compared to some of these young students coming out of bootcamps. I feel I have to start at the bottom of the pile and work my way up.

so what do you think about "remote coffee chat"? for people want get a better UX job or for better networking, should they move to big cities first? (if they already have the best ux job in town but far more than enough compare to opportunities in big cities?)

It was a great video. Can you make a video on how to get UX/UI freelance clients or remote internships? Currently, I am working as a graphic designer and am not willing to quit my job without any real-world experience around UX.
