For the downscan, I like to use the green color, and then, use the "fish reveal" option, which, overlays the info from the lower frequency sonar, but it really helps to pick / highlight fish out of trees and brush piles. A lot of times, since I only have a FS-9, I run side imaging only on one side view to expand and get more detail out of the screen.

Do you ever adjust the surface clarity. I do that as well, but I still run the structure scan 3d. It is only offered in 455 khz, but I like that frequency anyway.

Jacob thank you ,how do you have 1200 frequency? My lowrance carbon units are 455 or 800.

The transducer allows those high frequency. The AI 3in1 HD with a s3100 sonar module can allow you to have them also

@@313JohnH thank you i just have the AI 3 in one. After i sent it i thought it all has to do with what transducer you run.

Clearly you've never used a lowrance with an ai hd transducer

I don't know if I need it that much. I do have a HDS 12, but most of my bottoms are solid Grass and maximum depth are less than 15 feet. Once in a while, I'll find an obstruction, but that's so rare.
