Your garments are all really lovely. What a treat to watch your video. Thanks Sally, Susan

I remember a vlog from SOI where Lisa talked about the problems you can acquire to when sewing a full circle skirt, I think you can always hem the skirt again. Probably you need to measure from the waist down to the bottom. The Penny dress is on my make list for this summer, already have bought fabric.

Lovely dresses. Those pattern pics on the front of patterns!! The first one you showed - the waist on the drawn model, ridiculously tiny! Photographs of actual garments are much better. What a good job you have made of your dresses.

Yes I know! I think that’s why SOI changed their pattern branding x

I’ve only just found this video Sally. So interesting. I love the shift dresses but they look quite difficult with those curved seems. Also love your jump suits. Clever girl.

You’ve made so many beautiful Sew over it dresses and play suits. I love your eve dresses and play suits. I haven’t made the shift dress but have had the pattern for years so it was nice to see it made up. Thank you for sharing xx

I enjoyed seeing your Sew over it collection. I’ve made quite a few of these too. I came back to sewing through sewover it so it has a warm place in my heart. However I don’t find all the patterns fit me that well so have made adjustments. The Eve pattern seems too loose across the chest so am going to try it by pinching our some of the front panel. I did the Heather dress as a class, my first knit make. I’ve also done the Emma dress as a knit class. I think you’d like that pattern. Have you seen the Cowl neck dress as works well once you get the fit. I’ve just subscribed to your channel.😁👍🏻

Hi Ruth! Thank you for subscribing I'm glad you enjoyed this video :) I too properly came back to sewing through SOI but I know what you mean about the fit I think a lot of people find the arms come up small and I know I've found that in the past too. I love the look of the Emma Dress I'm not sure how I've never made it before I'll have to try it soon. Thanks so much for watching :) xx

Love you poppy playsuits , you’re right when you say it’s under rated . I’ve made a few Eves and I’ve left the back skirt length as the pattern and I’ve just shortened the front part . I really like how it turned out .

Thanks so much! That's a good idea about the Eve's I'll maybe try something like that for my next version, I don't want it to be straight but I don't want it to be too high/low either lol xx

Loved your video! Your outfits are beautiful. My favourite was the playsuit with the John Lewis fabric. It's so pretty 😀

My first eve dress was in viscose and the hem dropped too. I still wear it but it does look more like the hi lo version. I left my second one hang for a week before leveling it and hemming it and it’s kept. Now I let anything made in viscose hang for a week regardless of the pattern. I figured it can’t hurt.

Azalea Sewing oh that’s really interesting to know, I was confused because it doesn’t say to do that in the pattern but maybe that’s what it was then. I’ll definitely let it hang next time. Thanks so much for watching and commenting it makes me feel a bit better that it might not have been my cutting anyway 😂 x

Lovely collection 😍, really like your playsuits and heather dresses. I made a heather once but didn't get on with the fit very well and used awful Ponte Roma that bobbled. I will revisit it though later this year. Xx
@SecretLifeOfASeamstress4 жыл бұрын
I was amazed that my Heather fit first time because I had read that it might need some alteration. Definitely revisit it - that's the thing with stretch it can turn out so differently can't it! Thank you for watching :) x
@ruthlanwarne89784 жыл бұрын
I think it needs adjusting once you have it put together as can be taken in at the sides then. It seems to be far too big at that point for me.
@sewlittletime4 жыл бұрын
@@ruthlanwarne8978 hi Ruth, yes I remember that being the issue when I made it a long time ago, so I'll definitely be checking that fit again once I get around to making another version xx

I'd fix the hem as this yellow floral dress is lovely. It seems a shame if you don't finish it to how you will be totally happy with it. It's part of the journey to fix the wonky bits to make it perfect!
@SecretLifeOfASeamstress4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think the hem is fine once it's wrapped around, I've worn it a couple of times and I feel it's ok now I've got over it a bit ;) If I cut it any shorter to level it I think it'll be too short. Thanks for watching xx
