I would like the next video to be about how you start the technique! My starting strokes are usually quieter and roll into full strength

Pretty sure you’re the first one to go into such details about bass drum technique, hacks and solution for almost all the problems that all level of drummers face at certain point in their drumming journey. Fuck man you’ve made it so easy for all of us out there!!! Still gotta put some time in but you’ve definitely made it a lot easier…. Thanks man!!!!

Upper leg tension!!🙏🏻 I can’t let go of leg the tension in my right thigh when I switch to ankle motion. Of course my left leg is not as strong as my right either, but it seems like upper tension in my right upper leg is killing the natural feeling of the ankle motion. Due to playing loud powerfull rock for decades.. Thanks Marthyn!

hey marthyn can you maybe take someone who can´t do the ankle technique for them to do the movements? Im really struggling with that as a beginner on that
@dragonfire3868 Жыл бұрын
Hey Marthyn (or his community) I'm pretty much able to play the ankle technique with my right foot but my left foot just doesn't want to learn it. The movement feels kind of the same as with the right foot but the hits are not consistent at all. Recently I noticed that the beater swing was slitely less than with the right foot. I tried to play with my right foot on the left pedal and it worked so I don't think that the pedal is the problem. It could be about muscle group involvement because I noticed that my upper leg started to hurt as I tried the technique. Do you (or someone from the community) have any advice on how to fix muscle group involvement problems? Thanks for your videos they are absolutely fantastic.

Hey! I have a question for the next video: I can play the ankle technique pretty comfortable from 160-180bpm with each foot, but as soon as i want to play alternating singles with both feet its falling apart. the notes aren't spaced evenly and untight. I feel like I'm loosing control and balance, and that my technique somehow changes, but I can't figure out why. Also I feel like I'm tensing up. I already tried your "Single Stroke Double Bass Exercise"-Video for about 2 weeks, but i cant seem to make progress.

Hello there Marthyn, thanks for useful tutorial, I would like to see your explanation how to get rid from playing by upper leg during double bass in 130+ bpm

Hi Marthyn. I signed up to your academy as I am stuck at 130bpm. I had to move to a flat. What is your suggestion for the most silent practice pad for bass drum without compromising possible progress pls? Thank you! Can't wait to start practicing again. I miss it so much.

Question for you. I have been playing full legs motion with a bit of ankle motion for over a decade and I'm currently in the process of switching to full ankle motion at bpm over 160. I have a hard time doing ankle motion under 210 bpm. Any tips on how to approach this? Should I go very slow (60 bpm) and climb up or should I climb down from 210 bpm ? Having the stool near the drums helps with using calves and not shins, but how can I prevent using full leg ?

Those are multiple questions...I'm going to answer the last one about the full leg motion right away: watch the yt tutorial we released 3 days ago 👍
