Great work, very cool wheel mate, i really like the LED display. But all this work should not be nesessary. Unbelievable, how hard can it be for Thrustmaster...., i mean it should be in the store with functional buttons and that cool LED already, so everybody could simply buy this. :)

Hi, bin grad auf dein video gestoßen. Richtig cool.

How do you determine which button, switch, encoder, etc. gets mapped to which control function? Trial and error? Cheers
@SimracingNC
@SimracingNC 7 жыл бұрын
In most racing games on PC you can assign any function to any button of any game controller connected via USB. The display inside this wheel is just another game controller. So if you want to have the pit speed limiter on a specific button, in the game you just go to controller options and assign that function to the button.
@Sillyman8all
@Sillyman8all 7 жыл бұрын
Thx for your reply. Example: I have the F1 rim and it has the "chrg" rotary knob. If I try to use it to scroll inside of an "F Box", it does not scroll, but instead, functions as an On Off switch. So, how do I know how many of each switch, encoder push button etc I will need and which control function will work properly with what switch, encoder, push button etc? Thx Cheers By the way, your video is very good. Thanks for sharing.
@SimracingNC
@SimracingNC 7 жыл бұрын
+FlashFryer 1 That knob is on a "rotary encoder" - repeatedly the same button pressed in one direction, another one in the other direction. In your example you have to map one direction to "select next control", the other to "select previous control" in the black box controls section of the options menu.

(usw.)

@SimracingNC
@SimracingNC 8 жыл бұрын

Hello Martin, i have an SRW-S1 modded, do you think it worth's getting and modding this one as well?
@SimracingNC
@SimracingNC 10 жыл бұрын
Hi Greg. Well, I have a modded SRW-S1 too and did mid my T500 F1...;) But then again I already had the rim because it came with the base. Functionally and feeling wise I'd say this F1 wheel is a step forward compared to the SRW-S1 but not a huge one. The main difference is the display (which is cool but absolutely not necessary - on screen information is definitely easier to read and grasp during racing) and the diameter: the SRW-S1 is 256mm and the T500 F1 is 300mm if I'm not mistaken (might also be 280mm), can't measure right now.
@gregkar2736
@gregkar2736 10 жыл бұрын
this is the main reason i was considering this change, SRW feels a little too narrow... but if you say it's not a huge step forward, i might then focus on different rims like Oval etc..
@SimracingNC
@SimracingNC 10 жыл бұрын
imo the srw is a great rim for f1/open wheelers. also modding this f1 rim took me more than 50hrs;) may I ask what wheel base/rim mounting solution you use?
