She and Mark should've called the police and CPS on Bethany for child abandonment and neglect.

I'm glad things turned out ok for Tommy. It's very sad how he was neglected by his mom. Kudos to Ava and Mark for stepping up. I'm glad Tommy's dad came into the picture. Too bad it wasn't sooner. Good story👍

The mom has a lot of nuts to claim the accident “ruined” her life. She’s not the one who’s paralyzed from the waste down.

If you are in the United States you can call the police and they can grant you emergency custody to you. I had to do this for a friend of my son.

Not right now when he making progress, but when he’s older. Although she’ll probably have a new life.

Question: Would you have given Bethany a second chance? Too much water under the bridge. The risk of more shenanigans is too high.

Let Tommy decide if he wants to continue to communicate with his "mother". The father of the boy should have made attempts to see his son( his proof). How did that sister get into their house @2am !!!!???? If the father of the boy decides to relinquish his full custody rights to give it to the guardians The "mother" has no right for custody. I know the aunt and uncle probably wanted to give the sister/sister in-law the benefit of the doubt. They may have felt it better not to involve CPS ; especially after being surprised by meds and no written instructions when last taken. Uncovering Missed doctor appts./ Rehab, low school attendance and uncovered misuse of funds; was the icing on the cake.

There's an unfortunate thing that happens during a divorce. One partner wants custody just to hurt the other partner or purely for financial gain. The children are seldom treated well because they're viewed as a burden.

No Unless She Can Prove it with A whole lot of effort, But in Bethany's case 1000 per cent NO.

Was the mother's parental rights terminated when she went to prison? That by itself speaks a lot.

Your story makes no sense! Tommy's father was granted full custody! You can't adopt a child in this situation, especially if he's raising the child!
@carollykins94752 ай бұрын
Agreed, the father would have to give up his parental rights and then they could adopt him...but his mother in prison would have to do the same.
@mrsw29232 ай бұрын
His father works out of the country.

It can happen if the custodial parent approves and releases his rights and responsibilities to the child. But they still might need Bethany's signature to complete the adoption. But you are right on the surface that scenario doesn't make sense.

Bethany was just plain selfish she abandoned her son for 2 weeks they should have called the police immediately for that. A Mark needs to get a damn clue his nephew is in trouble and he still wants to protect his sister some people really need to learn their lessons the hard way.

Eventhough her behavior made he lose custody, a second chance at least to have a written but supervised communication with her son is reasonable for both mother and son.

Although the mother was in jail, I believe the child should be given the chance to decide if he wants to get news from his mother or not. Maybe the mother has had a change of atitude
