They didn’t even ask her stop stop liking groups, just to try going to school and trust her family. Did any of you watch the video?

Spend time with your family and friends too before its too late. Its okay to buy albums, you can buy a whole album factory if its your own earned money but please be a little considerate if you are spending your parents money because they work so hard everyday to earn it and provide for your living. Obviously, there is nothing wrong with being a fan of multiple idol groups. That is not the issue. It's that she spends all of her time in her room, doesn't want to go to school, and mistreats her family. I can relate to her on some level, though. I'm very introverted and don't have many friends, so listening to music and watching videos of my favorite artists are an escape for me. It is also hard for me to focus on my schoolwork and take care of myself because of my anxiety and depression. I don't think it's right that she takes her anger and frustration out on her family, but I can understand why she does it. She becomes upset whenever someone tries to interfere with her interest of idol groups because they are the only source of her happiness. However, she should realize that her biases wouldn't want her to be living like this. I hope that she will receive more help and eventually become confident in herself.

And those are selfish people. But I feel her so much You know girl you just have to have a limit on everything at the end of day sadly not just buying k cds but like other bad habits too. Just the fact that she recommended Nosedive to her mom, shows how hurt and sad she is inside. She clearly feels rejected and lonely. Nosedive is probably a song she can relate to and helps her get through the hardships she is facing. Her “problem” is much deeper than stanning 9 groups. She needs the help and support of her family

I super agree. Nosedive is included in my Comfort Playlist because I found comfort listening to it. When Chen hit that geunyang eorreo part... I always have goose bumps. The older sister just... fucking gets it. She knows that they've been lacking as a family and that her sis needed love and respect. The girl's family has been ignoring her because she's been ignoring them too, but she just needed someone to reach out and make her feel loved. Especially at that age, kids needs to form social relationships and her situation has made it hard for her. Normally, her family should have encouraged her to go out and make some friends while supporting her and making her feel enough. But they didn't. She's depressed from the lack of good family relationship and lack of social life. She used the idols as her avenue to release her sadness and aggresiveness towards herself and family. When the older sister said that they should've been there for her, I feel so relieved because finally, some one in this show accepted her.

king stan which older sister? if its about the one who brought the family into the show, it was maybe to help put some sense into her younger sister. yes, she was clueless but thank god she did it. now the family can see what is the true reason she was the wasy she is. her younger sister's behaviour was unacceptable as well but i guess there were reasons. she may not have known the school problems but maybe some sense were knocked into her. her older sister who moved away? i guess its quite reasonable she didnt know but she shouldve opened her up. as an older sibling, she should care about all of them and like just not talk to her because she is an introvert. im the oldest in my family and i have weird ways of making sure my brother is alright in school. then again, hopefully the show allowed them to realise the seriousness in the matter. no need to hate on the sister so much but i understand where ur coming from. pls dun hate me. i just wanted to share😶

Camillea Norshahrin They we’re talking about the older sister that moved away. She actually tried to connect with her sister by offering to buy the EXO tickets. She was the only one that was making any progress in opening her up without nagging her or putting her down. But I do agree the short haired sister did good in bringing them there or else the girl would’ve gotten worse.

I cried when the girl told her story, she's the same age as me and I am also ostracized at school and I study and do everything alone. My mum ignores me when I try to talk to her and my 3 siblings act like I don't exist. I stopped going to school from depression last year and my mum scolded me and took my phone and the internet down because her friends said I'm not a good student and should go to school. I stan BTS because their lyrics vlive, bangtanbombs and so on make my mood better. The only difference between the girl and me is that I don't have money to buy albums or any other stuff, and when I ask my mum for money my sister makes fun of me and my mum refuses.

To me it seems like her eldest sister is the only one who understands her -.- She's not doing well socially and tries to make up for a lack of connections she has with 'real' people by obsessing over idols. Spending so much time on idols is drawing her further away from social life and family to the point where she's scared of being hurt by everyone and *she feels like she can't trust anyone but her idols.* It's a devil's cycle. And thats why I stan them. Most of the EXO-ls do the same , we chase our dreams and grow with our precious boys. Don't you agree EXO-ls ?

They make her smile and laugh, which is really important for someone going through something like this. I feel that the main concern in the video isnt the fact that she likes 9 groups, but that she needs help loving herself and people around her to support her. @CharleneOcampo136 жыл бұрын
No, she most probably gave up school because her social situation in school is terrible and she finds it stressful that her mom kept on nagging her to study when she was bad at it. It just so happens that she found idols as a way to escape her difficult school life so she focused on that instead. If she decided to do something like, say, painting, or travelling, she might still drop out of school to pursue that instead because her issues are the people at school and studying itself

the difference is in south korea people usually stan 1 or 2 groups while international fans stans 10+ bc we don't stan the way KOREANS stan and not everyone in Korea can spend money on stuff like that to go to fansigns. you usually have to buy 50+ albums in order for you to get a chance in the event. if your stanning exo or popular groups you probably will buy +100 albums to attended it. i think this is why the issue came out and it's pretty serious. i myself have been into a korea and stay there like more than 3 months and based from my observation they rarely stan a lot of groups. as an example, fansites will only focus on 1 group only. the culture is very different at there, they will only stan less than two groups and mostly the fansites or hardcore fans will bought like a lot of albums to enter the fansign or to collect the photocards and guess what happen after that? they will just throw the album near the trash or put it in a box for people to take it for free without the photocards. they really wasting their money on something like that and what is worst i don't even know how can a highschool students got a lot of money to buy all of the albums and merchandise. i remember, during my stay in south korea for about 3 months, i gained like 30+ albums from different group just for free because of this.

When she started talking about her school life I almost cried because I saw myself from a few years ago in her. I also attended a small school and got ostracized, which led me to get addicted to anime and manga, later kdramas and kpop. I was always scared of annoying people and developed social anxiety. Around 9th grade (in Germany you usually stay in the same school after elementary until you graduate) my self esteem hit the lowest point and I felt like i couldn’t take it anymore. I was so stressed that I kept fighting with my family and shutting myself into my room to watch things on my phone. It got so far that in 10th grade I did everything to get into an exchange program to the States (the accumulated costs for that, including plane ticket, were almost 10k €) so I could get away from my classmates, whom I’ve been with since elementary, some even kindergarten. Spending a year there and coming back I realized that all of that wasn’t entirely my classmates’ fault. They naturally singled me out and me being introverted didn’t give them a reason to take me back in. I practically got invisible for them (when you’re in a group you don’t look at people outside of it, it’s normal human behavior) and you get labeled as “a lone wolf that wants to be left alone”. Me getting more and more gloomy, the more they left me out made them avoid me even more etc. after I came back, even though I finally made friends, I didn’t know how to act around friends, what to do with friends. I’ve been alone for years and don’t know what to do with a second or third person around. I’m sure this girl will have similar problems. Although, thanks to the things I experienced I developed a “I don’t care bout anything” personality and often just do whatever I want. And thanks to the hobbies I got so invested in I later found people who also like or liked the same things. I hate the time I lived back then. But thanks to that I learned a lot about humans. Not being part of something gives you a lot of time to observe. Humans are simple, they like what they know, but as they get older there are more people who like more diverse things. You will sooner or later find your people, find your group that will support you and stay with you. But on the other side, as soon as you’re labeled as an outcast it’s close to impossible to get back in. I’m sorry for my rambling, I just wrote down my stream of consciousness that led me to something completely different than what I actually wanted to write when starting this comment XD What I’m saying is, I relate to that girl a lot but she has to make it through this in order to get stronger. She has great sisters and wonderful parents by her side, I’m sure she’ll eventually make it. I believe in her :) (I’m actually most scared about how her classmates reacted after seeing this on tv. They could either sympathize with her and maybe try to approach her or single her out even more, maybe even start bullying her for real because teenagers are bitches “why are you overdramatizing everything?? Because of you we got scolded by our teachers you bitch!!”)

And i figured out i just have to smile and show confidence around anybody else. Sometimes i feel that old me again and im trying not to turn to that person back. I also got low self esteem thats why i get really nervous when the center of attention is me and i got some reporting to do tomorrow smh. I know i should be confident when im studying at a science high school and everybody expects that all students there are intelligent and confident, sadly im not one of them. Im on the stage that's "trying to fit in" so i hope i can help myself out and try to inprove my self esteem. At first I was really put off by her aggressive behavior towards her family, but after finding out about her unhappy school life, I just felt so bad for her. Having no friends even in just one class is bad enough, but the fact that her whole school practically ostracized her would be pretty traumatizing and confidence-shattering. I would wanna be her friend she seems like she isn’t actually a bad person :(

Mangies Yehet I agree with you. I’m not sure why she doesn’t have friends but it must be very painful and kids can be very mean. I think of how lonely she must be and I know myself even though I’m old enough to be her mom that loving an idol group can really help. Her being mean to her family stems from how much pain she is in. Of course spending time with her family and talking about her issues would help so much. She has just let herself be so withdrawn that I think she thinks it’s her against the world. I feel bad because it’s a hard cycle to break. I hope kids from her school see this and try to be friendly to her. (Although if it was a Kdrama they would just make fun of her lol). Anyways this program will help the family

the idols are not the problem here, its obviously her mental health. I know that because I feel the exact same way... I watch bts videos all the time because my family situation is kinda toxic, so watching them takes my mind off the worries and makes me happy, same thing with the school: I skipped many days because I felt too depressed to go and the only thing that would make me feel better is bts so I stayed home watching them.. the parents think she's skipping school to watch them when she's skipping school AND watching them.. And the way she's possessive over her albums and posters is also understandable.. she payed lots of money for that and she probably knows that if they get damaged her parents won't let her buy a new version so.... TLDR; shes using these idols as a form of escape from her life and because of that she gets very emotional and stressed if her family tries to do something about it bc they would be taking away her "escape" in a way

This is true, I was like this when I was a little kid, at school, no one wanted to be my friend, and I surrounded by negativity from my family, more so my “father”, I became aggressive at the age 10 when my family got a laptop, rediscovered a cartoon from childhood, and became obsessed with it, when I started middle school, I started to be obsessed with anime and vocaloid (not in a weeaboo way) since it’s was formed of an escape for me when my parents became more divided in their relationship, and that’s how I became depressed, I didn’t feel happy, I was torn and broken from my parents’ separation and a breakup with now ex in 2017(when I was still new into Kpop), I would hide in my corner of my room with room, only listening to all sad Kpop songs, including Sick by Got7, since it gave me peace from my toxic father, and I was happy I moved out 2 weeks after turned 18 with my mother, the only one I can trust, and that’s when I realized that my obsessions was making me aggressive and depressed, so I decided to loosen up, and just listen to my favorites groups’ albums fully once in while and enjoy life with friends I made through my phases, and also try to spend family with my mom and mom’s family now with my sisters when it’s their week at my mom’s (joint custody since they are still minors.) DONT become obsessed and just take care of yourself mentally. ❤️

I guess all the kpop stans can agree how big of an issue is this. We all have struggles to deal with and hardships we've been through each day. These idols just happen to appear in our life to cheer us up in hard situation. Why we can relate? A fandom is a family, they cherish you and support you. After all we have this kind of bond where we never met each other but have a lot to talk about. We have a lot in common as we stan the same group. So, being a kpop stan can really relieve your stress out. To those who have been in this condition shoul know well. As for me, I'm growing up along with Exo as my ult, forever will be. She might love Exo as much as I am so I know how it feels. When we're so down and have no motivation, we watched their videos to keep our spirit up. They are like a charger for us. Once you get into their fandom, you'll never walk alone. That's why, being a die-hard fan became our choice. And as for stanning more than one group. You can't blame her tho. As an Exo-L, we barely get contents and when they've a comeback SM gave them minimum promotions so we dive into another groups for more contents. Not to mention that I'm also a blink, sone, once, nctzen, army and shawol. It's impossible to stan only one group. Lastly, for the girl. I truly can understand what you're going through. It's not a crime but if you really love those idols, study hard and be a successful person. You surely know how much Exo want their fans to prioritize our studies above all. Be a better version of you. Be a fan that the idols can be proud of. As an Exo-L, remember when Exo said "let's meet when we are both successful" prove how much they want you to be a great person. So that they can proudly tell everyone that you're their fan. Stay strong and study hard. "whenever it gets hard, remember the beautiful us" -Kim Jun Myeon

Army and Inner Circle they’re right anyhow. she’s wrong in using all that money but she also needs help as far as her personal life is concerned.

When Chansung said they were popular 10 years ago, it hurt me for some reason 😂 because I literally grew up with them. 2PM was the last idol group before I stan EXO.

14:45 honey, she's not eating not because she's "watching their videos" - she might have an eating disorder in addition to social anxiety, sometimes you just gotta be there for someone and not ask questions but just... make it clear to them that you're there for them no matter what

Thats very true but there is also so much her parents can do, not saying theyve done much but even the fact that her parents buy her idol merchandise and albums is a sign that they want her to be happy and have the things she wants but the daughter needs to come back to earth and realize the most important thing she needs is her family. She chooses to be alone and be is so disconnected from reality that she doesnt react. Trust me I know what she's feeling but no reason for her to act the way she does, it might take time but I hope she grows and can be close to her family. Sorry I wrote a lot but just my opinion

nadia silva There’s nothing to be sorry for lol, I agree that there’s a lot of growth she needs to do on her own. However, loving someone doesn’t mean you’re doing what’s best for them, and wanting someone to be happy doesn’t mean they will be. I think she will definitely mature over time - she’s just a kid, after all - but they’re enabling her without addressing underlying issues, regardless of their intention.

This made me tear up, I relate to her 100%. Back in December of 2017, I was feeling so sad and unmotivated, I felt so lonely and still do every single day. Specially at school, I have no one to talk to, hang out with, and most days I’m eating lunch by myself. I found a BTS video and instantly became obsessed with watching their videos, they made me happy and feel connected. I listen to their music to distract me from the struggles in my life. This girl is going through the same thing, it’s not her stanning a lot of groups that’s the problem, it’s the problems in her life she’s avoiding to face and fix, she insteads focuses on these groups to make her happy. If I knew her, I would gladly be her friends, it makes me sad to see someone who has the same problems like me be from another county and speak another language, because I can’t help her and be her friend :(

the fact that she doesn't know her family's birthdays is quite sad, learning how to balance things in life is essential, i hope she gets better at it and resolves what she could be dealing with edit: i’m terrible with birthdates too, but the problem is that she prioritised her idols over her own family. whew chile anyway so

i think that its rlly totally fine if u wanna collect and stan kpop groups but the thing that her family members aren't rlly bringing up is that she is relying on them to escape reality. I think she can use her hobbies as encouragement and rewards but not as her life. I think she should step out of her comfort zone sometimes.

I completely agree with you, but as someone who has experienced something similar myself know, that it’s not _that_ easy. She’s at a point right now where she can’t get out of that “hole” by herself. At the one hand she herself has to realize that her life can’t continue the way it is right now (other people can tell her that as much as they want to, it has to come from herself). At the other hand she needs people who reach out for her and, again, she has to see and accept that help. Getting out of her comfort zone is one step, but she has to learn to be able to stay out there and find a way to “survive” without running away from her problems. If she doesn’t, she’ll run away from them all her life (because that’s what an obsession like that is, an escape). She’s lucky to have a supportive family by her side, I believe in her to overcome this with their help :) And who knows, maybe she’ll find likeminded people at her school thanks to this show.
