Sleep paralysis is when you partially wake up, your body is still asleep (it naturally paralysis so you don't act out your dreams/sleep walk/hurt yourself), but unfortunately, since you're still partially asleep, you are still dreaming, and sometimes whatever is in the room can be amplified. Because you are partially aware, you start to panic because you don't know what's going on. Simple things like the blowing air from a fan nearby can become a hurricane in your room, or the snarl of a demon, the pressure of your own paralyzed body can seem like something is on top of you, and when your mind starts to go there, you will hallucinate in the form of a waking dream. It's actually one way to enter lucid dreaming if you can learn to control it. A lot of cases of being abducted, or seeing monsters or ghosts, can be attributed to sleep paralysis, because you're partially awake the dreams seem completely real. I'm speaking completely from experience and my own research. I also had sleep paralysis for an extended time and wanted to learn more of it. The more you know, the easier you'll find to learn to control it. When I feel it coming on now (because sometimes it can happen as you're falling asleep) I can tell my body to wake up. As long as you stay calm and mentally tell your body to wake up, it usually listens.

I've only had maybe two or three of these sleep paralysis dreams in my entire life, but they are always the most terrifying things. Both of the ones I remember were very similar: dark, haunted house vibes with poltergeist activity. The big finale is me, getting possessed by whatever ghost/demon is haunting the house, holding me down and keeping me from moving. Feels so real. I don't think I slept again that night after either instance, because there was no way I was trusting my dreams not to take me back there. Lol, you wake up from a good dream and beg to return but never do, but nightmares will suck you in again and again. Lame!

@pillyhere Wow, that's pleasant! One time, I imagined my ceiling fan created a destructive tornado in my room. Another time, a flash from a car outside made me imagine a massive ball of light hovered over my bed and screamed random words I didn't understand at me. Then another time I saw a bowling pin I had from a birthday come alive with a demonic face and snarl at me. I had other experiences, but you get the point, lol.

i've got hyperphantasia (basically an overpowered imagination, if you can imagine an object is in front of you then your senses actually pick it up, meaning if you're unlucky enough you can accidentally materialize a "nonexistent" corporeal wall in front of yourself), so when i get sleep paralysis i can legitimately feel whatever monstrosity my imagination concocted that night, it's heckin terrifying

Same here. My brain is so over active during sleep. I've been dealing with this since I was a kid. Having Night Terrors, extreme nightmares & sleep paralysis. I can hear real sounds during dreams that interact with my dreams. Like a radio playing doesn't wake me up. It just bcomes apart of my dream. I can go into several tiers of dreams. I know I'm dreaming. I can wake myself up sometimes by jumping off something or falling backwards. My brain will make up someone standing in the corner of the room or at the foot of my bed during sleep paralysis. But I deal with this when I'm awake as well. I see something standing there. It's crazy. I've learned how to calm myself down. Like you, I can touch and feel things like a wall

one time i had sleep paralysis of two dogs chewing my arms off and could literally hear the bones crunching and snarling of these dogs it was the worst case of sleep paralysis i’ve had to this day. usually it will just be my husbands face melting into skeleton at night or something in the corner that is obviously a shadow but my dreams are so vivid and they make my sleep paralysis worse…

I've had sleep paralysis once or twice in my life. The most recent one was horrifying, I was fighting to open my eyes enough to see the room properly and couldn't move anything, no matter how hard i tried. I was trying so hard because I could see the blacked out shape of a man standing at the foot of my bed, watching me. It lasted for probably 5 minutes, but absolutely terrifying.

Oh my gosh I’ve had sleep paralysis and I definitely understand the “reset to bed” feeling! The few times I’ve gotten it I’ve def hallucinated. Very scary experience for me since I’m always afraid something will get me when I’m vunerable and unable to fight back. ✨A few tips: 1) You really have to put all of your energy into moving your body. For me wiggling fingers is what I notice first but it feels like I’ll be trying to flail my arms around before anything moves. And when I finally move I try to sit up but my body will feel weak, arms especially (I think it’s because I don’t give myself time to be fully awake yet before moving). So take time to rest, you’re awake and safe. 2) It will be what you make of it; if you think it’ll be scary it will be. Try to relax, breathe, you aren’t dying, nothing is here to hurt you you’re brain just did an oops. 3) If you’re afraid you’ll see something, close your eyes if you can. If you can close your eyes remember you’ll be able to move your body eventually. Focus on wiggling arms, toes, fingers or legs to wake yourself out of it. ⭐️Just remember: SLEEP PARALYSIS IS ONLY SCARY IF YOU BELIVE IT WILL BE. Try your best to remember it will not kill you and that you’re safe! EDIT: If you have a lot of false awakenings like I do, it can be hard to tell when you’re awake. The best way I can describe the feeling of actually waking up vs false awakenings is that everything seems... calm. With false awakenings I can recognize that everything is dreamy and far away. Sometimes I hear music that isn’t there or distant background noise. I can’t feel if things are cold or if I feel hot under the blankets. When I actually wake up everything feels calm. My room is always quiet and there will be no noise apart from a fan. I can tell if I’m hot or sweaty. I become coherent and can follow a clear train of thought. If you need to solidify that you’re awake (or not) I find that touch is the most assuring. If I’ve had an especially bad episode and I have to check if I’m awake, once I sit up, I dig through my covers and touch different materials. Lol it’s kinda funny because I look like a madman but it helps cause in dreams you can’t really feel the difference between soft and rough. If you walk around in dreams I find that once you think you’re awake you can focus on your floor. Does the floor feel cold if you have wood? Soft rug? Itchy carpet? This always works for me and often helps me find my way out of scary lucid dreams and false awakenings. (PS thanks y’all for the likes and comments over time, glad to know this is helpful to some)

@@reecebenson6034 maybe try to conciously blink first, and then close them. If you see something, dont panic. Remember it isnt real. There is in fact not an ominous figure standing by your bed. There is not some monster hiding in the corner of your room. Just like remembering your dreaming in your dream in order to lucid dream, remember this is also a sort of dream

I've had an experience with sleep paralysis once and it was the most terrifying experience of my life. It was sometime last year, I just woke up outta a dead sleep I'm assuming in the middle of the night cause it was still dark out. I have insomnia so waking up a lot in the night is common for me. I always check my phone when I do, but this time I couldn't move at all, I was full blown panicking. I felt like I was gonna have a heart attack I was freaking out so bad that I couldn't move and it didn't help that the mass of jackets hanging on my door in the dark looked like a figure. Plus I coulda swore I saw something dark merge back into my ceiling. It was definitely not something I wish to ever experience again.

I really appreciate how accurately that Doll game captures that Playstation 1 era of Survival Horror games like Resident Evil. It also reminds me a bit of parasite Eve, but less RPG-y. I have to give the developers props, cause 90% of those low poly games that "recreate that Playstation feel" do no such thing. If you want an actual Playstation feeling in your game, do things such as pre-rendered backgrounds and texture warping. That makes it feel authentic as fuck.

Sleep paralysis is terrifying. The first time i experienced it i couldnt move i couldnt scream and i was terrified. I swear i saw a gaint snake coming towards me. Normally that would put me on edge to begin with but i was absolutly terrified. I kept trying to scream and move. Slowly my voice started to return to me. And my screams went from nothing to a whisper and all the way up to bloody murder. I couldnt move till my parents rushed in and turned on my light. It felt like hours. After a moment i just burst into hysterics and crying. Iv had sleep paralysis a few times. It can be terrifying but the very first one was one of the most terrifying ones iv ever experienced. Another one iv experienced. Happened years after that first experience and iv had a few small ones inbetween but not many. I couldn't move or scream im not sure if i even tried to be honest. I just got the strong feeling that i shouldnt move or scream even if i could and i was terrified. I saw a tall figure in black with a white head. I dont think i could see a face at all just white. It just stood there looking at me. After what felt like hours it was suddenly standing alot closer to me like 3 ft from me. I felt like i couldnt even breath. All of the sidden i felt like i needed to scream and that if i didnt scream that very moment something bad was gonna happen. It was so hard and felt like forever but finally i started to scream. My mom rushed in and turned my light on. All of the sudden i could breath and i could move slightly. Took me what felt like a few min but was probably a few sec to feel like i could move fully. Well i kept getting the feeling that it was still around. I tried to sleep the next night and it happened again. But it felt worse. Like it was in a worse and worse mood and its intentions was getting more harmful to me. I honestly started to think it was very very evil. And every day i stayed awake or slept only in the day the feeling kept getting worse and worse. I stayed awake with all my lights on every night for almost a month before the bad feeling went away. After staying awake 3 or 4 days/nights in a row i felt horrible. I finally started sleeping in the day instead. One day i didnt feel threatened or its presence anymore. And i started to sleep at night again but with my light on. After about 2 weeks i decided to see if it was really gone and tried sleeping with my light off at night. It happened again. So i slept with my light on at night for about 2 more weeks. One of my moms co-workers was super religious and told my mom to do all kinds of things. Some she did others she didnt. One of the main things she said to do was for me to tell it to go away to leave and that it was not welcome here. I was terrified that i would just make it even more mad if i even tried and i also though That no way that would work and thought it kinda dumb. Well i finally got to a point where i just couldnt take it anymore and i sat on my bed and feeling both scared and very very stupid for even trying i told it to leave that it wasnt welcome and to go away. That night i didnt feel anything and i slept with the light off at night. Nothing happened. And its not happened again since either. That was my number one most terrifying experience. Im still not sure if that experience was sleep paralysis but it was terrifying and i went from being asleep to awake and not being able to move or scream.

Maybe in another dimension. And this doctor guy is responsible for its existence. I think that the hand puppet might not even have a body attached to the arm, but it might just be an arm that extends into the nothingness, because the doctor perceived that the hand puppet should have an arm, because all hand puppets have arms. In which case, everything is warped by the doctor's perception of what it should be.

The last game, “Alisa” was really good. Definitely got the classic RE vibes in it. Even the scene at 21:18 is exactly the same as the one in RE1 when Jill/Chris first encountered a zombie but here it’s a machine doll. Also the fact that the setting of the game is in a mansion & the BG music is so like RE too. I hope Jack plays the whole game when it comes out. 😊

here's my story: i was sleeping in a two story bed ( top bunk) when i suddenly fell of over and over and over again again and again i heard deep breathing and a (monster again i forgot what i saw since it happen when i was little) saying ''THERE'S NO WAY OUT, YOU WILL DIE AND YOU WILL ACCEPT YOUR FATE'' i woke up breathing heavily and crying with bloodshot eyes.... it was such a tragic thing that ever happen and i will always remember it, because death is NOT avoidable it will happen and there's no way to stop it.

From my I've learned about sleep paralysis is that it occurs due to a lack of oxygen flow to the brain while sleeping causeing you to go into a phase between consciousness, while your brain figures out the hell is happening. Because when you are asleep your body in naturally paralyzed, because it helps the body conserve energy. I had it once and Im sorry for those who suffer on a daily basis
