I saw the casting announcements on the tour website and was so mad they didn't cast age-appropriate actors for young and teen Fiona (I didn't know there would be puppets, it didn't say). I don't know what would be worse: puppets, or just 3 women all roughly the same age in the same costume meant to be a 7, 17, and 27-year-old (which is what I thought it was gonna be when I saw the website). I heard the non-equity Waitress tour used a puppet for Lulu but the equity tour used an actual child actress, so maybe this tour is non-equity??? Yeah, totally wish they cast an actual kid/teen like on Broadway, but I'm still looking forward to seeing it in September (was supposed to see it today but the dates got pushed back)

@@grace5033this tour is indeed non equity so having actual children in the show wouldn’t be possible unless there was a lot of agreements, negotiations and legal stuff

Puppets makes no sense especially when theyre a different race than the actual actress. And whats the deal with her costume????? I mean,that silver corset is an eye sore. Shame SHAME on the creative team behind this production!

Yeah although the puppets seem like a unique touch, they could have gave the same respect as they did for previous tour with having an actual child and teen

I’m not against the idea of using puppets instead of child actors, because let’s face it, child labor laws are crazy to go through, and to be fair, using puppets in musicals can be very successful. I mean just look at Avenue Q, or the recent revival of Into the Woods. But with that said, I can understand why people aren’t liking the puppets here, especially for the song I Know it’s Today, because it supposed to show Fiona’s progression in age and patience, and when you use a puppet that’s supposed to be representing a child that supposed to grow into an adult, it kind of takes away that illusion.

I don't mind the puppets if it was better staged. But the costumes and charging ridiculous prices. I feel bad for the cast because they deserve better ❤️ they're so talented, but being disregarded because of the production, costumes, set design, etc.

Wtf puppets? At least over here in the recent uk tour used actual people but the uk tour had young and teen Fiona played by 2 ensemble members who are adults though so yeah this is worst!
