That ride up to copper harbor is awesome! Looking over that town from The ridge is like something out of a movie, and the ride out to the point is priceless

Loving your sled videos! I bought a sled at Pat's Motorsports in Greenland a few years ago. I live in the U.P. (Iron River) and have friends that are farmers in Ohio (Farmersville, near Dayton) that come up to go sledding with us every Winter as well.

In March of 23 I rode the Keweenaw peninsula for 2 days simular routes and places you did. What a spectacular place! The trail out to the end of the peninsula was not groomed for the last few mile but once we got there it was worth it. We are planning to go again this year.

I have a niece who lives near Saginaw MI. I have circumnavigated Lake Michigan 7 times in my life. I would travel south from FdL WI south and go thru Chicago around 03:00 CT and get up to Saginaw before 09:00 ET. On our way home, we go the northern route, crossing the Mighty Mac bridge, cutting across the UP west and dropping down eastern WI thru Green Bay. It's about the same distance, but it can take several more hours. It is a nice scenic drive though.

Looks like you had a great time and saw a lot of Michigan ! Very cool seeing the lighthouse and that bridge that uses a lift so boats and small ships can pass underneath. 👍

Looks like a great trip. My grandparents lived in Ishpeming when I was young. I grew up about 60 miles from there in Iron County. Great area for doing just about anything outdoors.

You have to get set up to back pack instead of trailering. Great trails from Marquette to Houghton. Great trails over to lake of the clouds and so on. Not enough time is the biggest thing!!

Great video. Although I have only been sledding 4 or 5 weekends a few years ago in Thompsonville and Boyne Mountain, MI areas, I enjoyed those trips immensely. Something I noticed in your video is the lack of hand signals to indicate the number of sleds behind you. Is that not a thing anymore? Keep up the terrific videos. I did see some hand signals by 2 sledders just before you guys got to Lake of the Clouds. The more I watch the more I like your camera work, commentary and music. Very well done. Some more random shots of your speedometer would be OK also.
@farmhandmike10 ай бұрын
Thanks, not a lot of people do the hand signals anymore and personally I think it’s better to keep both hands on the handlebars and just pay attention.
@daverotroff687310 ай бұрын
I always thought so myself but that was what we were told to do by the sled rental. Yes. Rental. I live just north of Cincinnati and a sled is useless down here. Little snow and no trails.@@farmhandmike

I enjoyed this video. I have been considering a 2024 Arctic Cat. One was the ZR 7000 (Four Stroke, Orange Hood) and one was the ZR 8000 (Two Stroke, Green Hood). Have you gotten any feedback from anyone on the ZR 7000? The dealer is telling me with the Yamaha engine it will go 20K between overhauls and has impressive fuel mileage. But no recoil starter. It looks like you're running an 850 two stroke.
@farmhandmike10 ай бұрын
I don't know anyone with the ZR7000 so I can't say but I'm sure they are awesome. I just got a new Catalyst for this year. Hope to get a video of it soon.
@toddcoon673410 ай бұрын
@@farmhandmike I saw a Catalyst at the dealership. They are still developing the Catalyst model line and maintaining the ZR line for at least one more year (ostensibly to fulfill Yamaha contracts). The ZR appears on the heavy side, I have been unable to find published weights for any of the sleds. I suspect weight reduction was an engineering goal for the Catalyst. Look forward to the video!!!

The Yamaha 4 strokes @ 40k suggested valve adjustment. I never heard of any needing an overhaul. I’ve heard of some running great over 80k.
