In Srinagar, I stayed in a house boat with a local family. It was a really sudden plan and as soon as I got out of the shared taxi to walk towards my hotel, a man approached me asking to check his houseboat first.

There are many houseboats in Srinagar. It is easy to find one once you reach Dal Lake. I paid INR 1500 that included lunch, breakfast and dinner. But the price keeps varying depending on the season you are going there :)

Although enjoyed the mesmerising beauty of that place... Aftr coming back to Mumbai... It felt like a sudden change of atmosphere... Anyways we r planning again to go back...
