My Son is a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and the 14th century by the kings of Champa. The temples are dedicated to the worship of the god Shiva. At one time, the site encompassed over 70 temples as well as numerous stele bearing historically important inscriptions in Sanskrit and Cham. The My Son temple complex is regarded one of the foremost Hindu temple complexes in Southeast Asia and is the foremost heritage site of this nature in Vietnam. It is often compared with other historical temple complexes in Southeast Asia, such as Borobudur of Java in Indonesia, Angkor Wat of Cambodia, Bagan of Myanmar and Ayutthaya of Thailand. As of 1999, My Son has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. My Son is perhaps the longest inhabited archaeological site in Indochina, but a large majority of its architecture was destroyed by US carpet bombing during a single week of the Vietnam War. There are travel guides that compare My Son with Angkor Wat, Bagan and Borobudur. Historically, they have a point: in their time, these complexes were leading spiritual centers, and they have all fallen into a state of atmospheric ruin. However, the ruins at My Son are not as impressive as either of the aforementioned sites, for various reasons: the smaller scale of the original site, for example, the comparatively poor upkeep, and severe damage to the buildings from time and war. As such, they're not likely to wow anyone who's been to Angkor recently, but even so, the gorgeous jungle scenery may be worth the trip, and anyone who has an interest in Vietnamese history that doesn't involve America or France will be fascinated. In 12th century, the Cham defeated Khmer Empire at Angkor in Cambodia. The Khmer Empire ended with the fall of Angkor in the 15th century. Since then, Angkor has been abandoned entering a spiral of decline from which it never recovered. Sadly, in 1970s, China-backed Khmer Rouge nealy wiped out the Cham population in Cambodia. Fortunately, the Vietnamese as Cambodia’s liberator came to help by defeating China-backed Khmer Rouge. In 2014, Khmer Rouge leaders were jailed for life by a UN-backed court, which found them guilty of crimes against humanity and responsible for the deaths of almost half of the Cambodian population. .

Names change its accents and way of writing s from language to language. For example originally Sivan is the name is Tamil. The changed in Sanskrit Shiva ( most of the Tamil words changed to Sanskrit adding or changing SH, CH, JA) This way the Aryans mixed Sanskrit with Tamil and devided into Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
