Why wouldn't the mother want him to pay for what he did to her son, and why shouldn't he have to pay for the debt that this family is facing because of his careless actions. I don't understand why the dad is just so willing to pay the debt himself. That drunk driver needs to face the consequences of his actions period!

This movie was excellent! No political correctness, no profane language, no sexual exploitation, no taking the name of the Lord in vain. Supporting family members. Lovingkindnesses and tenderness on display warming every heart. The healing power of apologizing sincerely and breaking every stone in the heart of the judge, the mom, to make way for heart felt forgiveness.

Film title: A Mother's Fight for Justice (2001). I was also very touched by the train scene; assumed it would go in another direction but happy with the outcome. On another note, the fact of the being this plot missed was how much the Stone family needed to say how much damage the defense has caused but also that if the defendant walks away and learns nothing of this trial then he is liable to do it again. They kept missing this fact.
