No. You generally want at least -150 in order to bring most monsters down to -100 (Cows have 50, Venom Lords have 50, Bosses generally have high cold res which is a lot of what you're farming). Once you've got a bunch of +skills stacked you can respec out of maxed cold mastery.

My current build ( cause I'm softcore ) is: Frozen Orb 20 Fireball, Meteor, Fire Mastery 20 1 pt Frozen Armor 1pt Teleport 1 pt into Warmth. Runnin' Shako Um'd, 35 res Vipermagi Um'd & Up'd. 35 fcr Monarch, Tals belt ( until I get a arachnids ), 30 Mf nagel, MF all res ring, Tals amulet, Occy & Magefist. I typically go full into Frozen Orb. This time around I figured I'd try something different sorta Lol This is probably one of the more common Frozen Orb builds.

@@FROZENbender So Frozen Orb is about the spins + the explosion. If you're not positioning the explosion of Frozen Orb on a boss/pack of enemies, you're playin' the build wrong(Mind you, I'm not referring to YOU as a player). Frozen Orb itself, can get upwards to like 1.1k-1.2k. But that's typically a PVP build path not so much for MFing. My Frozen Orb currently does 420-450. That's without a Torch & Anni as well at the moment. Which would add like.. Maybe another 100 damage or so. I initially started as Frozen Orb & it was dealing about 650-720 or so. That's without what I have currently. Frozen Orb is meant for clearing, killing Mephy easily& then Fireball is obvs for Cold Immunes when doing Chaos. And Meteor is solid for clearing big packs in Chaos/Cows. My Meteor deals about 11k & my Fireball does 4.2k-4.5k with this current build.

@@FROZENbender Ahh gotcha, yeah Frozen Orb is a bit wonky of a play style. Blizzard is A LOT better on single target. So fighting/killing Mephy, Diablo & Baal, more damage. But Frozen Orb's damage is the 3 spins into the explosion. And if ya ain't positioning it right like I mentioned. You'll lack damage. Like this may sound low, but 5 Orbs to kill Mephy when I'm positioned right. But the 1.1k-1.2k damage I mentioned. Is people who go like CoH + Spirit + Hoto/Death Fathom + Nightwing, Arachnids, 2 Sojs, Maras, torch, 9x gcs & anni Lol Along with having -5%/5% die facets.

There are like 2 mobs that are cold immune that you need to kill to progress and your merc should be able to handle them.

that one mob in chaos sanctuary is tough but what you do is nuke everything else, static him down, spam telekinesis on him to stun him and let merc finish him off. sounds janky but works surprisingly well. I suck so I didn't have static, still worked. gg.

I've read from multiple places that Energy Sheild is a death sentence on HC. Especially when you get hit by a mana burn pack. Are they wrong? Your the 2nd player I have seen rocking the ES on HC. I'm thinking of respecing into ES.

ES = Dead. You only use ES in PvP or other very rare and special builds. You do so because as frozen orb you have 40 points to spend in ES+Telekines. If you dont max both, you are not running an ES build. Wasting one point in ES and getting your mana burned is plain stupid. Dont do it.

You can get away with farming meph for a long time but if you bought this char to worldstone keep you'd 100% die within 50 runs. I'm actually impressed he hasn't ripped this in meph runs too tbh. All it takes is one extra strong manaburn dolls with fana/amp and you'd die in half of a second

Guess what GIVES A HUGE ADVANTAGE.. but guess what prevents all those cheats/easy mode..
