A recommendation for viewing. The first 21 minutes are us getting an upclose of a picture. See if you cant add some cuts from each watch as you talk, rather than us looking at a "laundry list" Grocery list" ... with that being said, an exquisite collection. Love to see how the collection progresses.

I was just looking to get this thing up quick initially. However, in retrospect, I may redo this video and add photos that I've taken of all those watches I used to own as listed and reupload at a later point. Thanks.

Sad to hear you sold the Weems. I definitely would have been interested. It seems impossible to find any for sale.

Yeah, I sort of knew it highly unlikely I'd be able to find one again. Oh, well.. it was an experience of ownership I was happy to have been privileged to have had. I am in a state or phase of my watch collection I want to have more keepers I can and will wear and use more often than not. Unfortunately, the Weeks falls into the not. So, the reluctant and hard decisions to cut out and sell those timepieces and keep the fewer that can meet my current collection criteria is what I am moving forward with.

U can find the other weems.. the larger 36mm with date and automatic. But, it's not the same and doesn't look as good nor authentic to the Ww2 replica I had.

Whoa! You let go of the Sinn 103 Classik 12? I thought that was one of your keepers. Would have picked that one up if offered for sale.

Yeah. I miss it at times. All I can say in this hobby, for me at least, is there're many thoughts and intents for "keepers". But, times change.. yes, pun intended... Whatever reason (s).. wanting something else, discovering what works better for me, as a whole not having watches sitting in a watch box than on the wrist, and limited budget to spend in this hobby, becoming more critical defining and separating what I truly want to own in my collection vs what would be nice or cool to have in it. It's still an ongoing journey and evolution in my watch collection.

How’s the long term accuracy of the solar graph ? I really like the steel version of it but I’m hesitant to pay that much for a solar quartz movement if it isn’t HAQ. I’m also looking to buy the SLA079 black on black MM300 , it’s the dream smaller and thinner MM300 I’ve been waiting for like a decade now . One thing I was disappointed with is they changed from a ceramic bezel from the previous gen to the lacquered steel bezel with a supposed titanium carbide coating , Seiko call the bezel “ cermit” . How has it fared over the time you’ve owned it , are there any micro/major scratches on the bezel from daily use ? I would appreciate your answers/feedback a lot , thanks !

The Solargraph has been great. My continued time keeping records say it's about -0.07 s/d with my current example. My first one was about +0.07 s/d. So, pretty damn accurate. Yeah, getting an example with the seconds hand hitting the marks 100% exact will be hard unless u can go to an AD and have an inventory to look through and find the best perfectly aligned example. That shit doesn't bother me anymore. It's consistent in being ever slightly off. Damn close enough. I don't observe it that closely in normal use and the important part is it runs like a champ. It should almost definitely outperform any of the mechanical automatic versions. It is thinner & lighter and more comfortable as a result. Titanium is a comfortable material that is relatively thermally neutral, doesn't really get too hot nor too cold. It acclimates to your body (or wrist) temp quickly and another reason u may not notice it on wrist. I also appreciate the specific use of colors and finishing that can only be found on the Solargraph models. I really don't like the hpcl all the SS automatic versions have. The SLA077 has been great. Accuracy has been a fairly solid +1 s/d. Yeah, the bezel can scratch easily, unfortunately. I lightly hit a metal basket that was to my left on an overcrowed small table as I was eating breakfast. I was observing it earlier when sitting there and thought I should move to the other side so my watch hand wasn't so directly in front of it. I didn't listen to my instincts and thus did make contact and my first scratch on the watch. Oh, well.. it's very small and light..can't notice it 99% of the time. But, I know it's there. Otherwise, I've been pretty careful and haven't added any noticeable marks since.. as far as I'm aware. I also don't take much stock in Seiko's Diashield. One other Seiko's that have it, I still get scratches that I don't know how they came to be. And I consider myself damn careful in knowing how to minimize unwanted contact with my watches. So far, I don't think the case has any noticeable scratches, yet. After a while, I just have to ease up and accept the inevitable.

@ Thanks for taking to time to make such a detailed reply! Nice to know the Solargraph is so accurate, it puts my doubts to rest . There is basically no info online about the accuracy nor are there owners of the solargraph who are active on social media to ask about it except you ! The titanium is great but i don’t like the industrial boring finish on it , i like the polished bevel and the little polished bits on the bezel . When i tried on the steel version , it was already pretty light so i don’t think i would want it to be any more lighter with the titanium. I wear all my watches on straps so i don’t care about the PCL as it will just be sitting in a box anyways . All these factors are why I’m inclined towards the steel version. The bezel being a bit delicate and scratchable is a bummer but it is what it is , i love the watch too much for that issue to deter me from buying the SLA079 . I’m very happy to hear that the accuracy is that good ! I heard from another SLA079 owner that the accuracy is +1 s/d consistently too . I think Seiko has definitely been regulating the newer 8L35 releases cuz in the past it used to be +/- 5-7 s/d , it was never this good .

Hey man good video. I'm sure you said it for each watch, but in general, what was the reason for so much change from this year and last. Do you typically move on from watches this fast or did something specifically happen?

First, thanks for watching. If you look at my list of videos and watches on my Instagram (generally they match up), you will see for several years I've gone through a lot of watches. It was the norm.. still relatively recent, I'd say it's still kind of the norm. But, will see moving forward 2025. I just have a lot of "would be cool" or "would be nice to have" watch buys. For me it's just the process of experiencing watches that interest me and ultimately learning what I feel works and doesn't and isn't exactly what I'm looking for and moving onto something else which I feel may be. Frankly, getting sick of the constant flipping. Also, as I mentioned towards the end of the video, I don't have any memories tied to any watch nor any particular meaning. And, looking at quite a few other SOTC and what was most worn watches of 2024 videos, I can't think which ones truly held such a position other than by default they were new and worn and then moved. Some faster than others. Nothing has been held long enough to qualify as the most worn watch.. save that of maybe 1 or 2 watches. Nothing "happened". I just want way less watches sitting around and the few I choose are "keepers" to get much more wrist time. In short, after all that above, I just want to buy and keep watches that I truly want to own vs would be cool or be nice to have.
