I would be careful about using those pine pellets. Untreated pine is poisonous to rabbits, you can get pine that has been kiln dried that removes most of the substance that is poisonous but to be on the safe side I would avoid all pine. Those paper pellets you showed are much better, except you should get the fragrance free kind. Your bun is very cute!

Im trying paper pellets and noticed they don’t control urine scent keep on cleaning the litter every day. I prefer Pine pellets change it every 2-3 days and it controls the smell plus I can compost it

@Mayah: Don’t worry so much about type, look on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace to see if anyone is needing to rehome their rabbit. Beware of deception, though! Many breeders are now using the terms “rehome” and “adopt” instead of saying what they truly are doing, which is breeding and selling. Look for people who are sending their rabbit’s supplies with the rabbit. A breeder will only send the rabbit home with you. A person trying to find a new home for their pet will send the supplies along as well. Even if they are not supplies you want to use, take them anyway and then donate them to a local shelter that houses and adopts out small mammals. One of the three local shelters in my area pretty much always has parakeets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats and mice. So any supplies you get along with the animal you adopt can be donated if you don’t want them. Just make sure that shelter actually can use them so they don’t get thrown away. Remember that pet owners will charge a small adoption fee to ensure that their rabbit isn’t going to just be free snake food for someone. So expect to pay at least something. But no one can make a profit on trading a $30 rabbit and $200 worth of supplies for like $50. The supplies are the key thing to watch out for when trying to find a pet that needs a new home :) And don’t forget to get your bunny a buddy! Be sure of gender and getting them fixed if they aren’t already. If you get them through a shelter, they should included getting them fixed in the adoption fee.

I’m a new bunny mom as of yesterday 😊❤️ . He’s a 9 weeks old lionhead. He has already familiarized himself with and uses the litter box which is setup with hay piled high in one half and litter in the other half because I heard that bunnies tend to poop while they eat. The problem is he eats his pellets from his dish that is outside of the litter box and poops everywhere. To me it’s easy to clean up but at what age and how did you train your bunny to only poop in the litter box? Thanks for the great video & tips! Very helpful!

Skip those Brown's Tropical Carnival pellets and treats all together, as well as any similar. There are better healthier treats, including small bits of fresh fruits, herbs and veggies. In moderation of course. No to paper bowls with dyes and their coating. Same concern about dyes should apply here as with the colored blocks. (There are wood blocks "dyed" and flavored with real food juices, as a safe option for those.) Opt for a real washable food-safe plate/large bowl for the veggies. Or there are ones made from safe leaves or at minimum use unbleached, not colored and uncoated.

Honestly good job! I'm impressed! I don't see very many good bunny setups. The only thing I don't exactly agree with is that there isn't any hay in the littler box or there isn't a hay rack over top of it. I guess it's not really necessary, but bunnys do love to poop and eat and the same time, so I'd consider that. But other then that, super super great! 10/10! So so cute!

@Chorkymom3 жыл бұрын
So sorry for your loss. She said in the vid that she did just lose a bun. I use Equine pine as I have seen so many videos suggesting it. Do I need to worry? I just spend hours making my 11 month old lionhead's pen larger. Then logged on for ideas for flooring that is best over the cardboard boxes. She chews carpet big time. TIA for any advice.
@immybeaney55033 жыл бұрын

thank you so much!! bunnies are only good for having two when they’re very very young, Cotton now is almost 2, and introducing another rabbit into her territory can cause serious personality switches for rabbits!! it can also cause an extreme amount of stress!! we actually rescued another bunny while having cotton and they did NOT get along at all!! cotton was extremely territorial!! we had to keep them in separate rooms!! unfortunately our other fur baby passed away due to health issues from her previous owner. heartbreaking

Here is a little tip for u, u should not be giving ur rabbit alfalfa hay of any sort like those cubes of alfalfa hay that u have if she is 3 months or 3 months+ rabbits under 3 months eat alfalfa hay because it is high in fiber but rabbits over 3 months need only Timothy which is great ur giving Timothy to ur rabbit but just completely cut of the alfalfa hay for cotton as it’s high in fiber.

rabbits can be social animals but you NEED to get them together while they are babies!! you can get another rabbit after having only one for a while but the introduction process is very long and extensive. you also have to make sure it doesn’t stress ur current rabbit out, because when rabbits become territorial they tend to fight
