I didn't know you hadn't read so many King books. Get on it, son!! It's a crime to be a King fan and not have read IT and THE STAND. Did you know that??

I read the stand in my teens. It was the best book I'd ever read but as a 45 year old man now I've bought it to re-read. I don't think my view will change but who knows because.... I read It when it came out as a teen. I loved it. Having re-read It this year as a man my view has drastically changed. A good novel in parts but massively bloated ( easily could have lost 400 pages ) and in my adult mind now hugely over-rated...I wouldn't place it in Kings top 20.

@@geminisundone it's great how King's fans have many different opinions. I don't think it happens with any other thing really. Some people say 'It' is their favorite book of all time, others hate it or think is not that big a deal. I'm currently reading my 13th Stephen King book which is "The Dark Half" and I'm loving it, but my favorite from what I've read must be 'Duma Key' or 'The Long Walk'

@@JuanMartinez-ib7mz True. I've nearly got all Kings novels and I've been reading him off n on for over 30 years. The books don't change but we do. IT is a good novel but I was surprised at my younger self for loving it. I guess it spoke to me more then and I've read many authors n books since. I've got Duma key to read I've heard its good. The Bachman books I remember being brilliant. In my mind King has written at least 20 fantastic novels. 20 good ones and 20 bang average to poor ones. That's the price you pay for smashing a book or two out every year... As a teen he was my favourite author...now he just about makes my top five. You should try Dan Simmons novels. I think he's the best living novelist out there and kings a big fan. Far more intelligent than King he has better prose, originality, can write in any genre and is the same age as King. But your right...as a songwriter I have people loving different tracks of mine. I like it like that. Kings major attributes are his charactization ( help me spell check!! Lol ) and story telling. He was a modern day Dickens for many years.

@@geminisundone I will definitely check Dan Simmons out then. Duma Key is awesome, really interesting characters and story. King is obviously getting old and his ideas are kinda getting old too, but I think he vastly improved a lot his storytelling and writing in general throughout the years, his most recent work is so much more engaging and immersive than his 80s work.

In my opinion, King's best is The Stand and Salem's Lot. Dark Tower series are not to my taste. Love Koontz Odd Thomas series.

I agree with not liking Doctor Sleep. In my understanding and thinking, I feel it was so hyped up because it was widely regarded as a sequel to the Shining, which it isn't. It isn't really even a continuation in my mind, either. It just happens to have a shared character just at a later time.

Nice video man. I've 53 King novels I'm close to having them all although I'm never buying his factual book on baseball...lol I've still quite a few to read and re-read. The Stand I remember being his magnum opus but its been years so I've got them 1400 pages to re read. It I re-read this year. Good but bloated and massively over rated I think you'll love it ;) Take your copy of fear nothing and throw it in the trash its joint worst with song of sussanhah as the worst books I've read this year lol ;) Different seasons is probably Kings best set of novellas. Nightshift his best and first of horror shorts...still miles behind Clive barkers books of blood though. Pet sematary is outstanding as is the dead zone. King for me is best with few characters and a tight plot. I love how you give up on books! Haha I don't blame you I've come close I'm just too stubborn. Agree with you on black house I finished it but it pales next to the talisman. I've got under the dome to read but I'm sure the terror you're reading currently is longer. Finders keepers I thought was the best out of the three...end of watch ruined it by going supernatural...he should have stayed with it bring a thriller trilogy. The green mile I've got to re read but I remember it being great. The bachman books was great. Danse Mac a ber?!? Lol it's pronounced Ma-carb lol ;) Four past midnight is very good. Very soon I shall be listing you my best king novels read this year and my top ten books of the year. The terror still holds number one with his series Hyperion easily the best series I've ever read. Drood and carrion comfort by Simmons also close behind. Best king novel this year " The drawing of the three " probably the best king book I've read of his.
