For real, my late grandma was married to my late grandpa for over 40 years. 2 years after he passed she was still mourning, understandably, and my mom's brother dared to tell her, "mom, get over it. He's gone." To this day he doesn't realize how lucky he was that neither my dad nor great uncle were there. My dad would have laid him out on his butt faster than you can blink and he's not a violent man. My great uncle would have, literally, put him in the morgue.

And you shouldn’t have to call her that just because she’s married to your father now. I’m telling you it’s been 10 Years so you should basically forget about your mother. You never forget them. They were the person who brought you up who loved you. Just because they passed it doesn’t mean they were never in your life. That woman had no right to say that to you. And I’m glad you found out what she was up to and was able to convince your father to get rid of her because she was not a nice person.

If I had a stepmom like her you're damn rights I'd be drinking but it's just to tolerate her (and anyone else I can't stand i.e. my oldest son's dad since I wasn't allowed to be rude or reach across the table and punch him out happy hour for me started at 11am. I drink but I never go overboard to the point where I'm going to ruin that gathering). I also have a stepmom and she's never asked me or my kid sister to call her mom (with birth "mom" she expects me to call her "mom" which is something I can't do for a variety of reasons ranging from lies to credit card fraud she and my stepdad took out a credit card in my name without my permission and knowledge and they expected me to pay the bill bear in mind I'm the most patient woman in the world but I went from zero to rage under 3secs and I lost my sh*t on them and to no surprise they ruined credit rating when I was 19yrs. Now that I'm a mom to 3 beautiful amazing kids my youngest is my daughter and never in a million years would I EVER do that to her). With a stepmom like her who needs enemies

Sometimes dads listen to their children even when they are married to young wives…. My husband had a mistress and nothing could convince him that she was a bad influence for him, even when she manipulated him against our children… until she went to far, by going after our youngest daughter by calling her horrible names… she had never met our children, but she instinctively understood that he loved his children and dotted on the youngest…. He admitted that he would never be with her if our 5 kids didn’t approve of her, even though they were all adults…. When she started to badmouth our youngest, my husband left her right away, and she went crazy about it, but he wouldn’t budge, because to badmouth his kids was a no-no he told her…. that’s how I’ve found out about her…. because she lived in a different state, and as a long haul trucker my husband was able to keep her a secret… he was 58 years old at the time… I didn’t divorce him for appearances sake, but for 10 years now we live completely separate lives, even though we live in the same house, but we don’t have any lovers…. My husband had a stroke and can’t drive a semi truck anymore….
