A short film of my personal memories of growing up in Stockport. The slum clearances of the 60's started what was to become the breakup of many communities who had developed in very localised areas in many towns across the North West.
Many generations can be traced to two or three wards for much of the 20th century. The last 20 years of the last century saw a total break up of this clustering on a scale not seen since the early 1800s when the work force left the countryside for the emerging industrial towns. Many families are now scattered across not only counties but in many cases continents.
