sir same way here.i did coaching for jee for 1.7 years.but i i felt alone in that coaching centre.then i realised right from my childhood i was doing creative thingsand developing skills of an designer without knowing it.i was doing diy projects,i also met rob when i was in 5th class,sketching,observing things and people around me,sensitive about poor's problems,reading new concepts,biographies,books,animated movies,manga.but by the time i came to know about nid ,dates passed.now i am dropping a year.

Your story is so inspiring sir, it boosts the urge to succeed in this exam some 100X more... I always knew engineering wasn't for me, but one fine day, one of my colleague told me about doing Masters in Design . Was just so happy to learn about the fact that your passion can turn into your profession... i grew up drawing, sketching all the time ...started a venture of my own, started selling artworks through Ecommerce and even now in office, i keep designing mailers and got into the core communication design team... but to continue doing this work when you know there's something amazing out there, which you will enjoy doing everyday... the urge to crack this exam is too much. But i have one concern, since am currently working, i would probably able to give around 4 hours per day only for my prep after office, and my question is considering this 4 hours per day and i have got around 4months for prep... how can i make my prep really effective sir?

Your story is very inspiring...thank you for sharing it with us. My story is also kind of same. I had taken jee prep classes after 10th but after a few months I started feeling bored with this prep and I drew comics all day. Recently I realized that engineering isn't for me and I am definitely made to be an animator. I always had liked making comics since childhood but never took it seriously because I did extremely well in maths and physics. But I made this decision late and ucced and nid application dates have passed. I really want to take a year off but my parents are totally against this decision and told me to apply to Symbiosis institute of design(which is not good for animation) or take admission for Bsc in any local college and then give uceed and nid. So what should I do? Phew that was a lot ;P

Very similar to me. I had some thoughts about becoming an animator one day, but they were at the back of my head, until I got to 11th and found every subject bullshit (and also got addicted to anime!). I prepared for JEE, but I had told my parents in advance that they shouldn't expect much. I told them very boldly and adamantly, that there is no other way. They had to give in finally. I gave JEE, failed miserably, just managed to pass 12th, and have started preparing for NID this month (I couldn't do it before coz of some family problems; they struck at the worst possible time!). So, I'd suggest you put it straight to their faces. 'This is me, and this is what I wanna be,' that's what you want them to know. I know it's a late reply, but better late than never. (And now, THIS is what you call A LOT!!!)

@@DivyanshBalchandani dude same fucking story only thing is I want to go in graphics designing. When I was in 10th I did every well (9.8 cgpa) and obviously took science stream. Aaaaand then my life got all messed up. Barely passed 11th and got 75% in 12th. Realised engg isn't my thing. Came to know about nid/ uceed. I now started preping for nid 3 days ago. I want to know about you . did you give this years paper ? How was it ? Did u get in ? If not are you taking gap year and preparing ? If yes , are you joining any coaching institutes ?

akshay sir there is only one thing i.e demotivating me to go to a master degree design college and i.e college education. i am in a college where proffesors come and go ,they are more concerned about class assignments,bringing calculators in class, writting neat answers , marking absents . no one is bothered about giving knowledge. you are from NID so i just wanted to know would it be same there too. and is it compulsory to get a degree to become a great transport designer.if yes wat is the way to become one

UCEED is for undergraduate so its for you. CEED is for PG students.

Hi sir, I've done my masters in humanities, after that I invested 2-3 yrs in competitive exams. But somewhere in my mind I always thought of pursuing career in design field. I'm 26 yr old now. Hello, you can solve an old NID paper and check how comfortable you are in solving it. If you crack more than 60% paper you can qualify for NID.

Hello sir, there is no need to join any low profile college. NID preparation is not like IIT-JEE. It demands free thinking n creativity more than bookish knowledge.

That ... It tells us how we designers can look at the limited portion from a different perspective and make it creative ...(for eg : from my small age i used to draw my notes insted of learning them as text...slowly i realized that i was able to do it only this way very efficiently...and even help many of my class mates this way ..n then i realised that tis is an existing techinique for creative note taking in other countries!) changing education system is not in our hands but we can atleast change the perspectives of learning... thankyou again Akshay!
