my story: how I learned English & became fluent in English at HOME
My name is katy I’m a non- English native speaker, I grew up in non-English speaking country, my parents didn’t speak English. They didn’t know English at all. Learning English had never been. growing up, unlike other kids and my peers never been in English classes. thanks to my elementary school and high school English classes I had a basic knowledge of English.
When I was 16 my life and my English world took an interesting turn, all of a sudden, I wanted to learn English in a way I’d be able to speak English fluently and my English journey began…
In this video I’ll walk you through my background, why I learned English, how I learned English, what I did to practice speaking to become fluent in English and some of the things I wish I knew from day one.
I still remember those days when I was practicing speaking, I went through a lot of disappointment and frustration. I’d compare myself to those who speak English fluently. I used to think I wasn’t smart enough to learn English. But now I know it’s a complete nonsense. Everyone who speak English fluently has worked on it either consciously or unconsciously. Our perspective is imbalanced because we know our struggles so well from the inside, and yet are exposed to apparently pain free achievement on the outside.
We need to learn how to learn English and work on it and enjoy the process, in this way the journey becomes way easier.

hey there! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner! it approximately took me 2 years to be able to learn and speak English fluently which I believe I could've learned it way sooner if I'd been more consistent and incorporated English in my life. to answer your question I'm still learning and refreshing my memory. learning English is a never ending journey of discovery, and to some extent you can always absorb new information.

which part do you think I was lying? I talked about the crazy reason why I wanted to learn English, I could've said something like for traveling or IELTS exam which obviously would make me look more professional! I talked about how long it took me to learn English, I could've said something like it took me 3 or 6 months to make me look smarter and get more views. I tried to be as transparent as I could!
