Homesteading was never my dream. This videos tells the story of how I made the drastic change from typical suburban housewife to processing our own pigs and everything in between. Growing food was never important to me. This was the last thing I ever imagined thatI would ever do. But one day, everything changed and so did I.

So glad to see a family jump and make the move and learn quickly. We've been in the country, growing food and encouraging others to do the same for a decade. Still breaks my heart that family members haven't left the city yet.

You look at any military, and in some cases nations or empires, who's supply lines/chains are so long as to be impractical to maintain, what follows quickly is defeat or collapse. The USA is very much in that situation right now. We have traded modern convenience for the very real danger of hardship and deprivation should the assumptions our goods distribution system relies on break down. The pandemic very starkly illustrated that.

I completely agree. We need to bring manufacturing back to our soil and actually start to produce our countries necessities here. I think we could do it but it'll be a long road.

Amazing, I have the same problem you had, no animals except horses, The most destructive environmental animal there is. I just hate where I am, and do you know we can have 1 horse per 1/4 acre. I is obscene and insane.
@MorganHillFarms
@MorganHillFarms 5 ай бұрын
I feel your pain. Horses have become very much a status symbol in certain communities. It is no longer about sustainability but rather has changed to how pretty your house can look with a beautiful horse running in the front yard. So sorry you are facing this.

@@MorganHillFarms They will. You are saving them from a Spiritual death and possibly a physical one. I believed in serving one's Country so when my son said that he was going to join I thought it honorable. Little did I know we are no longer a Republic with a Constitution and that it would cost him his precious life. I pray that all mother's not make the same poor choice that I did. My nephew, raised in a very nice neighborhood in Mt. Juliet, attended private Christian school died last May from Fentanyl poisoning. He was only 24. When Jesus said that we throw our children to the wolves He was not speaking of just those ancient days. It applies to all eras. You are doing the good and right thing for them.

@@JamieSantosWhere's that passage about throwing our children to the wolves? I haven't read that one. Sorry you lost your son. That must still be heartbreaking. You are correct that it seems as if our Constitution has been upended and rarely nowhere to be seen. The lockdowns were totally unconstitutional.

I grew up on a small farm in central Florida and raised all of our food. Many large gardens, lots of chickens, Guinea fowl, ducks, rabbits, pigs etc. we always had a years worth of food. So this is not new to me except that I got Covid seriously bad, and wound up in an assisted living for 3 years. I haven’t been able to do anything except buy a dolor generator, extra freeze dried food enough for at least 1 and 1/2 yrs. I’m so thankful that my parents always taught us to be prepared, living in Florida we have many hurricanes so I’ve always had my hurricane box. P- but butter, crackers et. Some of my family used to tease me about it but after they lost their power for awhile and the grocery was empty they now have boxes also and hopefully they’ll come around to enough food for an extended period of time.

Thank you for sharing this. We are definitely on land thats too steep. Its been really tough to grow food. Also soil just eashes away and we keep building soils, but you know water.. its a force of nature. We frequently run out of grazing due to the rocky terrain, and moat of this land isnt suitablenfor planting. Im trusting God for something new!

Wow, it is so hard to believe that you were that uninformed!! So glad your eyes were opened, and before it was too late. That crisis 4 years ago was a warning. What if there was no warning for you? That is what is going to happen to some people, who still have their eyes closed. They did not heed that warning. I know some of them. They have nothing stockpiled, and joke that we preppers and homesteaders are hoarders and doomsday crazies. I pray for them. I don't panic, or live in fear, but I'm stocked and confident. We will eat and thrive. What a blessing!!

I kept getting a passage in Jeremiah about famine in the city and a sword in the wilderness. I could not get away from it! But in 2018, God got my attention like...PAY ATTENTION! So I read the passage to my husband and I said, I keep getting this passage and I think God is trying to warn us. So I read it to him and he said, "Keep praying about it. I need to check the weather there's a storm coming." So, I turned back to my computer and figured I'd check out the radar. Behind me, I hear the weather forecastor say, "And there's hail out in the wilderness!" We both laughed. Hubby says, "He'll never live that down! Who talks like that?" And then he got quiet and said, "Wasn't there a wilderness in that passage you just read to me??" So, I read it again and it suddenly started hailing. I went to look out the back window and there was a little hail in my backyard but the neighbor's backyard was totally white with hail. So, God confirmed that in a strange way. That was in 2018. And it sent me into a tailspin of persistently and insistently seeking God. Our old home was leaking like a seive because we had been through so many hurricanes and a tornado. We were stuck. We were both on disability living paycheck to paycheck and I feared we would end up homeless. Our backyard flooded during the rainy season because we were in a swampy part of FL. It just wasn't condusive to growing a lot of food. Since then, God got my husband his VA benefits and we were able to sell the place and get a Repo doublewide with more storage than I ever thought possible. 4BR/3BA on an acre. Zoned A1. The house payment is cheaper than what renting an apartment in Orlando would have been. I never would have dreamed of the prices skyrocketing like they have. I never would have dreamed that there would be so much violence and robbery like there is these days. It's going to get a lot worse!

It's such a shame that it is not passed down through the generations like it once was. I ended up starting a channel a couple of months ago. It is still very small (slowly creeping up to 100 subscribers), but the goal is to encourage others, so I'll keep doing that, no matter how small the channel is. 😊God bless. ❤️🌻🌱
