(13:00) When I was in high school, one of my classmates fell asleep behind the wheel. A group of boys, 5 or 6 people, were driving home from (I think) a skiing trip. Instead of paying to spend the night they thought they would just go ahead and drive home through the night. After a long day of physical activity, of course they were all exhausted. My friend was driving at the time and slowly everyone in the car started drifting off to sleep. Unfortunately, he did as well. He ended up running off the road and the car flipped several times end over end. Thankfully no other vehicles were involved and everyone was fortunate to live. All but 1 person just had scraps, bruises, and broken limbs. Unfortunately the newest member of their friend group, a boy who had recently moved to our hometown after losing everything in hurricane Katrina and who was set up for a major college football scholarship, ended up becoming paralysed. After about a week all the other boys were able to return to school, but he spent several months in hospital and rehabilitation. I remember talking with my friend (the boy who was driving) around the time of our graduation, and him kind of breaking down about his guilt over the accident. Out of all the boys, he was the one that walked away with the least ammount of physical damage, but unfortunately it's something that weighed heavily on him phycologically. It's something that everyone who was in that car will have to deal with for the rest of their lives.

I made the mistake of camping in Lake Tahoe during the winter. I live in Sacramento so I never even see snow, but camping in the snow was a GOOD LESSON..... I'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN! We stupidly thought the alcohol would keep us warm. Tip for everyone: Getting drunk will NOT keep you warm when it is freezing outside.

My mom was a ranger at a park in AZ. She had to rescue lots of people off the trails, after warning them that they didn't have enough water or appropriate footwear when they visited the station. If you are in unfamiliar territory, stop and ask. It's the smartest thing you can do and it's what the rangers are there for. They would rather help you out beforehand than have to rescue you later. And follow their advice.

Good points. I have been so sleepy driving that I actually hallucinated and saw things that weren't really there.....to the point of slamming on my brakes in the middle of an interstate! If you are tired/sleepy, get off the road ASAP or better yet, just don't drive until you get some sleep.

Use Waze app. I travel a lot and when using the app I’ve been told when police are up ahead. I did get a seat belt ticket even though I had it on and buckled, I had pulled the shoulder strap down because it was cutting my neck. That was 130.00. Yes you can push it to 80 mph on interstates but as you enter city limits the speed limits drop and they are always on the lookout for people who aren’t cautious of that.

I’ve struggled with talking fast and stuttering and tripping over my words since I can remember. Sometimes I just flat out won’t finish my sentence or won’t say something I need to say because I know it’s going to come out all jumbled. I don’t find comfort in other people having the same problems as me, but it is pretty inspiring to see you share your realness. ❣️ also I understood every word you said. 😂

i would think travelling anywhere you would cater for extremes. have a windbreaker jacket on hand for really cold weather, your doona/blanket should be filled with down for the warmest sleep, and a hat is always needed for sunny situations. You know it can be dangerous to be too cold or too hot. I heard a story where a kid was dropped off (after going out with his mates) at his house but he forgot his key and was unable to get in his house. it was a really cold night and they found him dead outside his house the next morning...just be really careful with the cold. i really understand camping cold is a nightmare because i have done it and didnt sleep a wink.

All good advice. Thanks! Six of us vanned our spring break way to Ft. Lauderdale when in college and one of the women on board was incredibly pale and for some reason didn't think to use any sun screen our first day at the beach, resulting in a terrible burning. I can still see her on her initial walk to the ocean, significantly whiter than anyone or anything else there. No more trips to the Atlantic for her after that first day. She spent the rest of our Florida vacation at the campground in the tent, tending to her wounds, bored to death, in a lot of discomfort, and crying. Just a miserable wasted trip for her, making, I would think, 'neglecting the use of tanning lotion' easily one of HER stupidest travel mistakes, probably resting painfully at #1.

MZ I ran into her a few years after graduation at a bar in my home town and by then she could laugh about it - but at the time it had been a traumatic experience. Tenting it all alone every day in a nondescript Boca Raton camp ground deep fried and in real pain? Who wouldn't cry over that? A Hellish vacation for her.

Great video.. it helps to see your natural uncut personality.😊 I my kids and I suffer from too fast brain too slow mouth.. I've learned to effectively write a script in my head before I speak. It's time consuming. But, it helps to keep us from stammering and stuttering. 😊 It's weird. Sometimes we are all on the same wavelength and we can just look at each other and have almost a conversation.

Tuesday on one side Thursday on the other side, usually from 10 am till 2 pm so the street sweeper can clean but NO HORSES! Sometimes it's on Monday and Wednesday from 10 am till 2 pm. Hello Katie , I think what your saying is good. You are a speed talker, but I think that is because you talking to the camera, if you are talking to someone there you would be much slower, cause of the interaction. The most important thing you talk about it, is the sleeping at the wheel. One of my friends did a very long trip back to Montana and he fell asleep the last two miles and ran into some mail boxes and knock them over. Luckily he didn't get hurt but he was shock at himself falling asleep. Thanks for the advice. Russ from Oregon.

You need to take vitamin to fill in gap with your sensitive system as you are sick far to often as you are not getting what you need in nutrients, etc. I started taking Pre-Natal vitamins as ran out of mine and only bottle I could find was my daughters Pre-Natal vitamins she left at my house. Amazing difference in health....they work great....especially skin, nails and no more colds!

Your face is beautiful as usual. I was thinking how great your lipstick is. It’s a miracle you didn’t die. How far were you camping from your car? There is nothing worse than being extremely cold. You can also die from sun poisoning. Bless your heart. I love that rain. It is soothing. I so love Yellowstone. I laughed so hard at .... you can park here on Thursday if you own a horse... 😂😂😂😂😂Priceless. I know what you mean. They have that in LA and DC. My husband would have “micro sleeps” when he was commuting. It scared me to death. You shouldn’t eat Mc Donald’s any day. Great video!! So so smart! Such great advice!💖

The people that want to enforce it are no better than Hitler. They want to send the homeless to concentration camps, so they can be better than them. They assume people want to spend $2000 to live in apartment and if they don't want to pay for it, they expect the taxpayer to. Everyone deserves equal land. That is why these sobs like immigration, they keep their land and buy more, creating a slave state. Garcetti and his cronies belong in jail.
