Agreed.. always do chains in a x formation across the front when you're hauling sheets

Asian Mai channel had video recently of a trucker with a headache rack who braked too hard with steel beams and only using straps and they crushed his cab. Killed instantly.

Yousef, small tip. Your ratchet chain binders seemed a little dry, as you seemed to have to hit the clip to change the direction of tightening. Put some engine oil or similar to the threads and also to the clip where you change the ratchet rotation, makes them turn much more smoothly. Also, even during colder times, you should use the A/C every once in a while, to prevent it getting stuck. It works as a dehumidifier so also useful when you want extra moisture off cabin.

If you ever haul steel pipe or plates like this load can you install a reinforced piece of metal vertically behind the cabin to prevent getting killed in a wreck from the load going through? I've seen a few guys die that way. I always chain, not strap steel.

Ah yes. The life of the gopher. Started driving a semi on interstate, hit construction zone in 2 miles. Lane shifts, narrow…. Owner said. “You made it thru that. I am going to climb in sleeper wake me in 4 hours”. Refer loads. No tarp. I saw a new Kenworth T680. It went $20k over to get it from first buyer. If I understand he ordered it, got called end of March it’s at dealer. Guy had change in situation. “Sold” it before delivery, made $20k. I suggested he could have gotten more.

Yosef , This new driver needs to actually pull on or kick or use a hammer when doing a pre trip or post trip , he needs to be taught how important pre/post trips are .. I must say Yosef you do by the looks of it a GREAT trainer , you have the patients and time which not ALL drivers have .. teach him well and to the trainy , listen with your ears not with your mouth and you will learn alot
