Fyi the hand throttle can be used for equipment that requires a certain amount of rpm to work, like a wood chipper. You just put it in neutral and push the hand throttle so the rpms go up. Or just when you cruise along the road or anywhere and don't want to use the pedals. The trailer stuff is a different lever!

I'm a farmer and own four tractors. The throttle is a throttle dude, it provides a constant throttle control vs a foot throttle that has to be continually manipulated via a foot on it. The handle on the left side of the seat is the seat adjustment for forward and back. A trailer generally hooks up to the draw bar and does not adjust up or down unless there is a 3-point draw bar on the 3-point lift arms, then I suppose you could lift and lower a trailer tongue.

The hand throttle is to set the idle when you have a PTO driven attachment like a bailer or a seeder, because you need to rev the machine up, plus that is how you accelerate because you have a clutch to your left and then 2 brake pedals so you can stop tire on one side to help it turn or you can lock them so both brake pedals move at the same time. The hand throttle is essentially a hand gas pedal because your feet are busy enough.

The hand throttle is for maintaining a steady rpm for driving equipment through the PTO shaft (a drive shaft which leaves the back of the tractor and is connected to equipment on the back) . Different equipment requires different rpm to drive them and maintaining the revs with a regular throttle would obviously be very difficult for hours at a time, so tractors have this 'cruise control' for maintaining the revs.

The hand throttle just makes your like easier because for example if you want to go really slow on a farming field, you can concentrate more on the thing you are doing instead of pressing the pedal just the right amount.

The Hand Throttle is for elevating the motor speed for using the hydraulics, or for whenever using the PTO (Power take off - Basically a drive shaft that comes off the back for the tractor to power implements). Newer tractors automatically do this for you.

Hand throttle on farm vehicles is a bit like cruise control. You set the engine at whatever rpm you want. So you don't have to step on the accelerator constantly. Good for driving at a constant speed. Also some pto-driven equipment requires higher engine rpms. Stuff like wood chippers and balers. You set a higher engine speed so said machinery can operate properly.

The throttle is used to speed up ur rpm's, that in return makes the pto on the back spin faster. Which means that what ever is hooked to the pto shaft speeds up. It is mostly used when cultivating, or mowing😉😉😉 I own a farm Speirs.

#speirstheamazing the "cruise" is for farming implements like a rotary rake.It runs of the 3 point pto. The nob to the left is for adjusting the seat. And the vents on the dashboard are for feeling the heat of the glow plugs.

Don't take my word for it I'm not 100% sure but the hand throttle on a tractor isn't really for cruise control (That's what i use it for I'm not a farmer) but I think it's more of like an engine speed You have the tractor at a higher RPM to use different equipment *Correct me if I am wrong but I think that's what it's used for*

The hand throttle is for when you're cultivating a field or something like that, and you want to go a consistent speed, because your foot will get very tired if you need to be going very slow for a certain job, and haft to hold it where for hours. Also when you are using a mower, it can keep the RPM's up so the PTO (power take-off) Shaft keeps spinning fast, since this is what powers the mower, and it needs to be spinning fast the whole time. (yes i live on a farm)

Your hand throttle on tractors are used so if your cultivating or sowing the field (that's means getting the field ready or seeding) you can use the hand throttle and have it set so you are dropping your seeds at a even ratio so that your not over seeding for 10 feet and not getting any seeds in another part

Speirs about the tractor my family owns a dairy farm and we have a FUCK ton of old ass tractors. The reason for the cruise control is for when your on the road and you have places where you drive on where a tractor cant go that fast. And on the field it's better to use that so you can pay attention to whatever your cutting or harvesting or towing and you can just keep your foot on the break. So that way when you fuck up and break too hard on the road you can't be like DAMAGE REPORT!! OUR CORNS FUCKED UP!!!!
