i think it's a great plan! a lot of other small business i follow depending on their products take summer to enjoy vacation and family (like what you're planning) or do craft shows/markets (which your product isn't really good for that) once back to school starts going again everything should pick back up again so enjoy this time now!

I’ve lost count of how many designs I have scrapped halfway through because the vision in my head is not translating to the artboard and I want it to be simple to cut and assemble not have to give 2 paragraphs of instructions

What advice do you suggest to someone who is starting out? I am so stuck on what to do, how to start. I have a site but it’s a mess. I have some good pictures, but I truly admire your craft and would appreciate any advice you can give.

Just go for it! Pick one or two things that you love to create and start off with promoting those. As you build up a following, you can branch out to other things. If the things you start with don't work, pivot. Keep doing it until you find what works for you! Good luck
