I think he's using "mad" as a default word because he's getting irritated that he doesn't have the word he wants. He wants to ask Dylan for something, but he immediately gets irritated, the "twitchy tail" and ears back after he says Dylan and ponders for a second, then he does his loop against the scratcher to think if he can say it another way and he says, "Russell," but he still says, "Mad," because it doesn't fix the verb issue of what he WANTS from Dylan. He's getting into complex sentence building! Oh, and Billie of Billie Speaks does the same circling thing when she's thinking of a word. I didn't think that was weird because humans do that too! Watch a person talking to a group about a difficult subject and they'll usually stop, scratch their head or self soothe, pace or do a little circle while they're processing, then start talking again. I think it's a non-verbal cue to let others know that we're still working on it. And now the spinning wheel when videos are buffering makes way more sense...lol!

Yes! I had the same feeling when I watched him. He was frustrated of not being able to express what he wanted. It was something much more complex than before. It is madly impressive as Russell needs to first recognize his own "want" for something and then "name" it. Without somebody else naming it for him. But that is what I got too!

@@Xen-AM It is natural for us to assume that when a cat pees on someone's things it means they don't like that person. Since that is what we might do. But apparently cats can just find the smell of human testosterone very loud and so they cover it up with something better - their smell. Which doesn't smell as bad to them as it does to us (or so I've read.) Of course, I can't speak for your cat. But my cat actually loves my male partner. She sits in his lap, makes squishy love eyes at him, ect. But she'll also pee on his stuff/his side of the bed/his pillow. She's NEVER peed on my stuff in 11 years. Of course - we've taken her to the vet multiple times for urinalysis, blood work, ect. I just thought you might like to hear another experience on cat urine and our male partners. xD

Sometimes cats pee on things just to show ownership. Might smell another animal, something that is offensive, or expressing emotions! You just have to know the cat to figure it out, or with words, let them tell you! But meow's, purrmeows, and tail, ear, and facial expressions tell too!

This is the first video I've seen on this channel, and it's definitely a process to teach a cat words, but it can be done, even if I don't think this cat knows exactly what the buttons mean yet. The channel Billispeaks, which probably inspired them, showcases a much older cat that I consider to truly understand all the words she presses, it's truly a wonder to see her speak what she means, I'd recommend looking at their videos if you're not convinced it can be done. I, myself, would never have the patience to try something like this, but it's really cool to see other people try. I'm not expert on this kind of thing, and as I previously mentioned I've never watched this channel before, but I think their fault lies in introducing too many buttons too fast, without making sure the cat understands all the previous buttons first. It's a very long process that can take months until you have so many buttons.

Cats can actually learn some human words. I met a cat once who used 'yes' and 'no' appropriately. They can produce some of the sounds in human languages, it's just that they don't usually connect their own vocal sounds to the abstract concepts words represent because their braind are developed more for body language, despite some cats seeming to have a very good understanding of what we are saying.

I had a cat at the time but she hated ALL men so I let him bond with Crowley. And then I lost my girl in 2020. It’s taken 4 years to recover. Until I got Bellamy. He’s my little ball of ginger floof nuttiness. Unfortunately though…Crowley blames my husband as much as he blames me. We’ve both been attcked numerous times-like bites and scratches that leave SCARS since Bellamy joined us. In fact…the kitten is the only one he hasn’t attacked.

What I've noticed with my cats is any instinctive thinking they do is instantaneous but the intellectual part of their brain takes a second or two to register. When I trained my cat to sit and shake a paw I had to wait for her to think about it but training her to do a natural behavior like catch the treat or jump up on command were quick.

He's intelligent and bored. A house is a very still environment and cats crave stimulus. My cats are always at the window and since I got a companion cat for my first one, she is a lot calmer. Even though they fight, it's friendl rivalry. Exotic breeds are often highly intelligent and get bored more easily.

He didn't say he's mad at dylan he's calling dylan and alerted him he is mad 😡 not mad at him. He wants dylan to sooth him with pets and play mousey with dylan it's not complicated ❤

I have a male tuxedo that's the same way. The look on his face is all the "go to he!!, I'm in a bad mood" I need without him having buttons to make it abundantly clear. Then, he's a purring lil love bug; but, he's my schizo and I love him. 😂🤗 Take care!

@@sandyjamison5929 my tuxedo cat is the absolute bestest boi! He rescues birds from his brother and brings them to us to let back outside. But he was raised by a couple of big dogs and has never been good at catting, which might explain some things 🤣 We were recently stolen by a neighbor's big holstein-spotted kitty and he seems like a good complement to them both: sweet and puppy-like to play with our big elder tuxedo, but murdery enough to stand up to the little orange monster. He stole us by repeatedly breaking into our house to announce that he lives here now, which is weird, but who am I to argue with a cat who wants to steal me? Cats! They sure do keep us on our toes, right? 🤣🤣

The cat knows that when he presses the "mad" button, the woman will go into concern-overdrive, showering him with attention. Kitty isn't necessarily actually mad.
