Also prefer witch hazel as it is a natural skin soother and i feel it is smoother mix as it contains a small amount of alcohol like the ink.

I’m a newbie. I tattoo myself. Tried the grey wash with the same method here and even the lightest mix (mostly water, 2 drops of black) was still black. Had to use white ink instead of water
@strikeforcek9149

Fully rinse out your Needle and tube tip by dipping and running clean in a larger clean rinse cup, everytime when switching between shades of greywash. (Residual ink can get stuck in the tube inkwell, even when it looks like no ink is running from the needle. When you dip into your wash, it mixes with the blank pigment stuck in recesses in the tube and then mixed in with the wash you just picked up - thereby blackening the crap out of it. It also takes lighter hand pressures, lighter strokes, and depth differences to create lighter shades. I, personally, add 3 drops of white to every wash cup to help soften and smooth the tones.

I just filled in shading on my leg, I used 50/50 ratio by mistake and its made the outlines disappear because its so black. How much will that lighten up once healed compared to the solid black outlines? I had to continue once I realised, I've only been tattooing about 3 months.

@thedevil3890
@thedevil3890 Жыл бұрын
@@arielh2695 Ummm.... My response was in no way pertaining to your plants or anything along those lines. A plant is NOT human skin or the human body. My response was in regards to using it to dilute black to get lighter tones without it being dangerous health-wise, or terribly worse than distilled water in terms of the quality of the tattoo. And sorry, i am correct. Tap water in the US is of zero hazard when used in tattooing. You do realize our bodies absorb water while in the shower, washing our hands, etc etc right?? Also, aside from actual absorption, you ever get water in your eyes during a shower? You ever shower or wash your hands with an open wound or cut?? Also, 99% of tattoo artists who freehand tattoos use Sharpies, which is a permanent marker, and that gets injected into skin everyday. Yet no issues. During a tattoo process, ink and all its ingredients are injected into the skin. Particles of the stencil paper are injected into the skin. A&D/Vaseline/or some other during-process ointment is injected into the skin. Green Soap, or whatever other cleanser an artist uses is injected into the skin. Tap water and/or distilled water is injected into the skin. Sorry buddy, but tap water is absolutely no risk. I only use tap water, and I've tatted all over the country, and in 20 years of tattooing it has caused ZERO problems.
