I think what I’d like to know is: How is the car holding up. I mean rattles, things falling off etc. /. Maintenance stuff like brakes, anything needed for the motors or drivetrain. Plus how’s the parking brake connector holding up? //. How is it getting replacement parts like the roof and door inside panel? And does a glass shop like safelite even have windshields? /. Thanks to Jordan and Kyle for these vids.

@@jasonfournier what I meant was from a previous video where Kyle’s wife got stranded with the rear tires locked up. It was one where set was transporting a dog somewhere. I think they found there is a wire controller going to each back wheel for the parking brake. The right rear one they found was loose. Never heard if they replaced it or just reconnected. That stuff happens to any car , just being curious.

Teslas are amazing cars, they don't seem to age. There is so much less to go wrong mechanically, and as long as the car's paint job is maintained and the interior is kept clean, I wouldn't be surprised if a Tesla could last decades.

I have a May 2019 production SR+ with 73K miles. 2 Windshields and 1 set of tires are the only maintenance costs. Both of which have absolutely nothing to do with the car itself. Had tires rotated recently and suspension and original brake pads still look brand new. Home charged to 90% every night. Car gets cycled 90% to about 30% every single day. Stats app showing a 10% degradation in battery. Would love to do a range/capacity test, but I never get around to it. The absolute best road tripping car I've ever experienced. Looking forward to the rest of your series. These cars age really, really well from my experience.

I love your videos on your 100k mile Tesla. Tesla's are so durable overall. Bricking the battery is the only thing you can do to immediately make a Tesla go to shit. Yesterday I came across a 2021 Tesla M3P that was needing a full HVB replacement at 11k miles because it was somehow drained to nothing hundreds of times. In the EV era people need to know how to treat a battery. Just as some people don't realize you have to change oil regularly.

After living in CO for 10 years, I've gone through 4 windshields (cracks from gravel thrown up + freeze/thaw cycles) and blown 6 tires (screws/metal hardware in the road), I don't know what it is about this state but I never used to have those issues on the East coast. Knowing that Model 3s are even more susceptible to tire and windshield damage, I would only feel comfortable owning one here with comprehensive insurance and a low deductible.

Along with everything, one of the constant "abuses" is that Kyle likes to run the battery very low on road trips. Often rolling into a Supercharger at under 5%. This is known to cause quicker degredation yet his pack is still 90% of it's original capacity.

Im much more interested in the 200k mile mark, that's typically when an ICE engine starts to fall apart and needs engine or transmission work or total rebuild/swap. If the battery is the only thing that shows signs of wear then that would solidify my want of a fully electric daily driver. I will take a degrading battery with 50% of its life left than an ICE engine that needs gaskets, valve springs, piston rings, timing belt, water pump, the list goes on. Not to mention issues with transmissions!

It is nice to see there are other Tesla owners like me. Who just treat it like a tool that is used to drive. Gets a scratch? Meh, they happen. Has a spill somewhere? Clean it and move on, don't obsess. Sure, obsess over a sports car. But for a daily driver? Just keep it well _maintained_ so it runs well, and don't stress on the details.

Your drivers b pillar trim looks to be coming off? How come no issues with rear lights, I had 6 replacements now as they use get full of water - maybe you didn’t care to notice. I’m honestly not worried much about battery going wrong on this car but all the little things that go wrong are annoying. I had the car computer replaced as it was completely crashing. New display as backlight was dying (from new). Did you do brake cleaning? I gather not given Alisa’s recent adventure with the brakes? How are the door seals, as mine all fell off and had to be replaced. Wind noise also increased massively since 2019. I love the car, but it’s not been trouble free at all (I recorded 19 issues and more than 20 service visits in total). I am in UK

I know because I picked mine up one day before you. I have Aug build 2019 sleeper performance. The 18” Aeros are significantly better for normal driving. I have had 2 x 12v battery replacements and upgraded the M4MX to Pilot 4S all season in a 245mm /18. Huge improvement there. I got 41k miles of free supercharger before it ran out. Well, maybe not continuously waxing and coating the vehicle... but doing at least one ceramic coating at the beginning I think matters a lot. Those coatings last 5 years(!). And doing a light UV/wax coating every few months only takes 10 minutes of time. I think part of the issue here is time. You drive so much you are putting a lot of miles of your car sooner rather than later. It would take me 10+ years to put 100K miles on my car now that I don't have to commute any more. I don't lease or hop cars every few years... I buy one, and its 20 years before it gets replaced. The paint job needs to last a lot longer for me. -Matt

The main issue with Model 3 is the rocker panels paint near the wheels. The paint being destroyed because of the dirt and rocks. Even some rust is forming in certain climates. Would be interesting to see how they hold up...

Damn, my 2018 Tesla Long Range RWD doesn't even have 50k miles on it yet lol. Hoping to keep it for the next 15-20 years.

I have a 2019 LR AWD with 103k miles. My full charge is 279 miles with an average of 268-ish watts per mile. When you divide the watts per mile into the battery pack size its about 320 miles so my max range of 279 miles is attributed to my driving style. I've gone through 3 sets of tires. Just started driving in chill mode to decrease wear and tear, should have done it sooner. Hopefully this set lasts longer.

How did you drive so much in two years??
@amartins02
@amartins02 2 жыл бұрын
@@Mhaqqim it’s really 3 years. I work for 7 days then get 7 off but my commute is about 140 miles round trip. That’s already over 25,000 miles a year. Then the normal driving I do on my off week. Some road trips. It adds up fast.

@amartins02 how's it holding up so far. I just bought an 18 LR RWD with 86,000 miles on it and am curious on how yours runs
@amartins02
@amartins02 Жыл бұрын
@@802spawn I have 145,000 miles now. The only issue I’ve run into is the front control arms that needed to be replaced. It’s a common issue. Other than that I haven’t had any problems. My commute has changed and I’m closer to home so daily commute is 12 miles. With the computer factoring in my new commute my full charge in miles has gone up to 290-295. I’m assuming it’ll go even higher at some point over time because watts/mile is more efficient in city vs highway. So it isn’t too far off of the original 305 miles. Still have the original brake pads too. I think you’ll be happy with the purchase.

Where did you get those wheels in black? It looks like Tesla only has them in silver now. In black they look better than the Uberturbine wheels that Tesla now has on the performance model.

Awesome was looking forward to these videos, was curious on the drivers seat wear and tear. Also seems like your tire pressure gauge is always on LOL. How often you rotated the tires, and did you go through brakes?

How did the suspension hold? Does it handle as well as new? You keep referring to it as a tool, is it not enjoyable on a back road? Do you feel that all EVs have no emotional effect or just Teslas?

I mean, the car has reached 100,000 miles but it is still "new" though. Just a lot of mileage but the body is great since that it is not a very old car. I'd be worried if the car is at least 8-10 years old and has 100,000 miles. Unless if having a Tesla is a different thing to learn and find out about.

I would like to hear how you think the headlights compare to all the other EVs you have driven. I would also like to see how this car and all the Evs do from 70 mph to 0 in a panic stop.
