I’ve always loved Jordan’s calm, light, and mature demeanor while playing CS. It’s so interesting to hear how much thought and introspection he’s put into all aspects of his life. Gained a subscriber today and hope to hear more insights like this!

Appreciate the insight into your time with c9. Being a thoughtful and supportive person is just in your nature. I think it's something all your fans have picked up on and part of the reason you're so loved in the community. Also I'll never forget that carry against North. Amazing how a person's gameplay can shift when you start focusing on yourself instead of the team.

Being that glue in pugs while top fragging has never failed me. Even if I demonstrate some kind of competence to my team, it helps make that glue bring us together. I really like this mix of technical coaching and mindset approaching. Both are super important in a competitive environment of any sort, and it is how I have been able coach tennis. Great advice, Jordan!

@@lukebruce5234 reason number 9 your silver. Pros want to be pushed, even if there not feeling it. Its a part of the competitive mindset, not all days will be good days that does not mean you shouldnt push yourself. Even if it means a slight improvement in overall gameplay.

Hey man I played a ton of cs back 2015-2017. I was always a huge fan of yours. I even have a souvenir p90 with your sig from colombus 2016 in your match against NAVI. It means a lot to me cause I praised c9 back in the day and you were one of my favorite players. I wouldn't have your sig if you weren't such a goat. I'm really happy to see you still doing your thing, staying at the top of the food chain and shredding lobbies like you always do. Just wanted to come show some love and support :)

I have followed you since my own 1.6 days when I was just a kid. I remember hearing about you and swag, young kids who became great CS players, and I wanted to be just like you. I’m so glad you’re back into CS and this video reminded me, after all these years, that you’re still one of the best players ever. Bless you and I hope you make a return to CS2. You are one of the best faces of the community!

Way back when CS was in its early betas(so, like, over 20 years ago), the combat model was changing a lot and it was, at first, much less restrictive on movement and didn't give many penalties for shooting while moving. There were very few other examples of this type of game around - the first Rainbow Six games were close, but most were still Quake style arena shooters at heart. When hitstun finally came in, it was really surprising and I had trouble adjusting to it, because it meant the game was punishing me more for moving while I was taking damage, i.e. exactly when I wanted to move the most. I always prefer taking angles with zig-zag side movements, when the game lets me, but CS definitely pushed a bias towards standing accuracy that always makes me think of it as "the game where I have to stop to shoot". The mind game is a big deal. The analogy I always make now is to judo, which I trained in for a year: it's all about grips and which grip you take on the situation, and which grip your opponent takes on you. If you get frozen up, it's like you've taken a grip that can't make any progress to a throw or submission - wrong angle or whatever - but you can't let go of it, you just cling onto it tighter. You have to play by "holding on" and "letting go" and consciously doing one thing or the other to get the leverage you need. And if you train towards that, then whatever situation happens, it's nothing to panic about. And it happens at different levels of life, when it's a gameplay thing it's almost all muscle memory, but the bigger aspect of getting in the zone when it's called for and acting out the role that's needed is harder to learn. It's hard because we all default to the role of being a baby, and develop that kind of healthy maturity only with great effort. Nowadays I just main Planetside 2 - an old game that is, on the whole, maturing well. It magnifies all of those game sense issues with the larger scale: sometimes it is truly a hopeless scenario. Other times you can create tremendous leverage by adding a spawn in the right place. But the challenge is basically the same - try to make something work with what you have, take down as many as you can with you. I stick with it because the situations and counters are so many and varied that it never becomes totally formulaic.

As someone who played sports at the collegiate level, this is the mindset every elite level athlete has. Incredible to hear that it permeates through all competition including CS:GO, but now that I think about it, not surprising. Guys on our team who are just the greatest dudes off the field would lock-in. The joke you would crack with them at a party is not to be made during the game, because it's go time. Winning is the only thing that matters in that moment, and that's what makes a great competitor. Playing with passion, intensity and most of all focus is what separates the many from the few.

The key is being smooth... don't move your mouse faster than you can control it... sometimes you might need to flick 40 degrees in game right or left but it's only one or two inches on your mouse pad so in reality your hand is barely moving but if you tense up or go to fast you might over compensate and miss

Thanks for talking about the sports psyche angle, I think it's the biggest part of what people don't realize is going on with their mental game. Especially when playing with teams and reaching higher level league play with them. Besides the individual skills, team mentality and the "vibe" is huge.

The tip with moving after the first shot just made me try out to move more in general in a match instead of just duck spraying most of the time and for the first one it actually worked so well, it also felt a lot better, even tho I'm not doing it very good yet. Bro sometimes u have to be the "spirit" of the team. There is so much toxicity in this game, i have won so many games just because i was trying to "mentaly" support my team. I dont understand all this guys trying to bully someone who has bad game. It wont magickly make him play better XD but I agree, u cant always think about others, if u want to win u have to focus and adapt to the current state of your match.

I feel the same as you did back in the day. I mean we are not Pros or anything but i support my mates everytime we play. They are getting mad pretty fast and say bad things, always saying they are cheating just because they hit shots. They dont know much about utilityusage and then they get mad because the enemy is holding the angle that they didnt deny with a smoke or something. The Games always have this bad Vibe in the Discord if you know what i mean and i cant focus on the Game because the Vibe draging me down.

In short, aim where people mostly are and learn to flick, adjust, stand still and hug walls. Game sense takes times, but the above takes little time in comparasion. If you are one of those that NEVER seem to become friends with your sensitivity, well, try acceleration to get the best from both worlds.

And that seems like that vast majority of the CounterStrike community so not shocking that its top players are like that too. I would absolutely hate to be in that position personally. But he made it work so who am I to say otherwise.
