My Thoughts on Layton By Parfums De Marly After 2 Years

My honest review of Parfums De Marly Layton after using it for 2 Years. Layton cologne review. I'll talk about the compliments I get from layton and how layton smells.

Just a few days ago, I heard about the supposed vicks vapor rub similarity for the first time. One person even said cherry vicks vapor rub. I've had it for a year and was waiting till fall to start wearing it again. I wore it two days ago and still can't smell similarity to vicks. Fragrances smell different to different people and react to each person's skin chemistry differently. Some fragrances lasts hours and hours on one person's skin, doesn't last on others. It is what makes this hobby interesting.

I had never heard about it either. I usually get compliments wearing it. But last week this lady I work with swore I was wearing Vicks. Now it’s all my nose can pick up on. I’ve had my bottle for about 2 years it’s almost gone & I swear it didn’t smell like this in the beginning at least not to me.

I’ve never picked up the Vicks smell either. But also I’ve never used Vicks Vapor rub lol maybe I should try it and see for myself. I really like Layton 💯

Vicks is one way to describe it. I got a sample of it and felt like it smelled like cherry cough medicine. Not a scent that’s for me but a lot of “fragrance influencers “ seem to love it 🤷🏻

Also, suggest never leaving a fragrance in your car. A cool, dark place (no bathroom with shower). Minimal light and minimal temperature variation is key to having a fragrance last and not go bad prematurely.

Great Video! Im excited to get mine soon! It will be my first Parfums De Marley Fragrance :) I was debating to get this or Althair but I hope I picked the better choice!

Nice review 👍🏾. My two scents - One reason you may not be getting as many compliments is because of how heavily you spray. If you are going clubbing or are attending outdoor events; 10 sprays may be best. But if you are just meeting with friends or going out on dates, that amount of sprays is probably way too much. Try 2-4 sprays and see how people (women) react. My guess is you will get more positive reactions.

4 years ago, I tested old batch layton, love the longevity last few days and the projection filling my room with 3 sprays price is very expensive so is only on my wishing list. Recently check new batch layton price sky rocket ridiculous high 😵‍💫 but the longevity, projection and quality like water down pretty bad. If anyone had both new and old batch, correct me if I'm wrong

when i tried layton at the parfumery it was a veeery strong apple vanilla scent ans looved it.. it lasted nearly 30 hours on my wrist with exceptional projection ... then i bought the 125ml bottle (82% new reformulation) and it is soooo weak.. zerooo projection but its a skin scent for about 20 hours.. i asked collegues ans they couldnt smell it at all, just when sniffing directly on my neck.. i brought back the Layton to the shop as i thought its broken .. got another one but ITS THE SAME ... weak AF.. the tester was hella strong... but the bottle you buy is just non detectable and i dont feel the apple at all..

Needs time to be exposed to oxygen. Empty the spray/tube with 14-15 sprays and let it sit for a month in dark

You need to play with th amount of sprays to figure out what works for each fragrance. From the Caribbean so my range is 4-6 sprays

Hello everyone! I have a question whose answer I havent been able to find. Many reviews from famous youtubers show PDM layton (Original) and the 78% batch says 2015 at the botton of the box. If it was realeased in 2016 why does it says 2015? Can anyone help me out with that?

For me, no more than four or five sprays of pretty much any cool/cold weather fragrance. Warm/hot weather fragrances might get away with more sprays depending on the fragrance.

Real Layton is Great but to save some Green I have gone to The Woods Collection "DUSK" its so close and addictive....

I just got Dusk and the opening is like layton without the "menthol" that people describe. I bought a layton tester and 1:25 they are close

one of the worst I have had. Glad I have dropped the bottle and broke it. Didn't like the bottle(can't see through the glass). Cap is somehow awkward

Yeah...I don't think so. What's crazy is that no one ever, said Layton is a tobacco scent. Not once. Sorry. All PDM fragrances do NOT have a tobacco DNA scent...especially Layton. The official notes of Layton list no tobacco notes. You may have to go see a Otolaryngologist for help if you think Layton, Greenley, Percival, Pegasus, Galloway, Sedley, Haltane, or Kalan, just to name a few, have any tobacco scent at all. In fact, only a select few have any tobacco scent. Moreover, if your confused enough to be smelling tobacco in Layton, I'm not sure you should be talking about detecting synthetics.

just buy Detour Noir, fill it up into a better flacon and live a good life with alot of compliments
