heres like a few things things i noticed: after miku went insane and all that, her head seemed to be more lopsided and tilted than at the begining of the song (i think it might symbolize her insanity) at 4:00 teto was only sweating because she knew that she was next. at 3:10 shes eyeing miku for that whole part, almost as she knows that miku is gonna go bonkers, but isnt sure at 3:23, teto stops bouncing for a second and looks shocked. she was probably hoping that miku wouldnt go bonkers bc that means she would go crazy shortly after. at 2:49, as teto's eyes squint they go black, just the same as miku's hypnotized eyes. i think thats a hint that shows that teto is gonna get mezmerized/hypnotized in the end. If you look at miku and teto's shoes, miku has roller skates and teto has boots. that could be hinting at miku being like less imune to the hypnotizing stuff/ shes more mentaly unstable??? and at 3:00, teto looks uneasy and is probaly wondering if miku will go insane or not (thanks for reading all of this lmao)

I think miku's head being tilted at a "cracked" angle symbolizes she hung herself after going crazy. She has a black choker on, which contrasts the aesthetic of the rest of her outfit. Additionally, after she goes crazy, her eyes go black (showing no life) and her tongue is always out, which is typically used in fiction to show when somebody is dead. Another thing is, some of the positions she makes after going crazy are humanly impossible without causing severe damage to your body.

There are some things I noticed too: 1. After Miku goes crazy due to hypnosis, the subtitles in the part where Miku sings have meaningless words/characters. But Teto's subtitles are the same and decent. 2. I don't know why this is, but before Miku goes crazy, the subtitle's font is a cartoony, childish font. (Same as Teto) But when Miku goes crazy due to hypnosis, the font changes to a more formal, classic font. But Teto's font is still the same. 3. I think this one that I noticed is more important than the others. In the hypnosis section before Miku goes crazy, Miku "shuts down" at the end. Teto is supposed to say the same words, but when Teto reaches the "shut down" part, she is interrupted and later, in the green-screen part, Teto covers his mouth. So Teto hasn't been hypnotized yet. The things I noticed may be unnecessary ones, but I wanted to share them anyway. :)

I dunno. To me this is just a song about tiktok/youtube shorts. All the video is done with mini screens in portrait mode, the whole animation was done by someone who only uploads in the shorts format, and most of the visual cues like the focus point, the word guessing game, the random english subtitles, the oversaturated color palette, the dancing and the confetti are used in popular easy to consume shorts videos. It's talking about how people watch shorts to escape the loneliness, depression and other very real problems of their life (hence why both miku and teto sell it as "the ultimate escape" in the beginning). It's a literal never ending loop of "look at me and forget your problems" which is ultimately not far from actual hypnosis. Miku represents falling deep into media dependency while Teto is generally hesitant which is why all her lyrics reference why you need to submit yourself to end your unrelated suffering. She's not really scared as much as she's too cynical to fall into the hypnosis as easily as Miku. Her cries for help are not about the hypnosis. She wants a real solution for her problems but she ultimately doesn't get it so she resorts to continue the dance on her own accord to finish the hypnosis process anyways.

I also think that it's referencing to shorts and tiktoks, But also for any "serving" jobs where you have to be a "face" and "mesmerize" the public, hence the costumes but i feel it's rather about the CC(Content creators) rather than public, I mean to me it literally looks like - They are competing against each other (Miku vs Teto) (Like tetris, fighting games, dance games where like left vs right) - They are pretty literally making faces on camera - But also are explaining each others logic and reasoning, method to the task/reality. And thus, let's be honest miku wins at the end there (by playing completely into public's "wants"), where i can relate to teto being crushed, but still coping with reality. (As i interpret the matter). Teto can't/won't win but what can you do. I wouldn't call teto cynical as i wouldn't call miku weak. Cuz teto straight up trying to be hopeful, cope, and helpful. ​@@exco6367i like what you did there, it is almost like miku was trying to get attention of some sort this entire time also. in my theory, i think that miku sort of knows that this curse or her being hypnotized is brought up and going to happen to her, but it's almost as if she wants it to happen or something? it might have to do with taking over, and you can see that she knows based on the earlier lyrics miku and teto were discussing in like the beginning of the video. and what's really darker, is that based on how teto is trying to prevent this, it looks like the hypnotizing has happened more than once. maybe like a loop, because of how it's day and night again. they're living in a circle. it's really hard to try and analyze the lyrics, even when you have the translation in English, it's still sort of confusing, and it's also kind of written poetic.

i noticed that miku has a maid like outfit and teto has a bellboy outfit. in the old days those outfits would be worn by the slaves or the lower class (but above slaves) assuming this song is about using escapism to cope with reality, it actually can explain why they wear these outfits. since life sucked so much for these people, i would have guess that they tried to make it better by using drugs and drinks (which can be a reference to the illusions/hypotizing throughout the mv) miku got tempted first, as she is represented as the lowest of the low in the pyramid. so she wanted to escape her horrible life. since teto is represented as lower class (second to lowest) it probably explains why she didnt get tempted for a few days since her life was slightly better, yet she caved in in the end. also, the line "pretending to not notice" can reference the lower class/slave people pretending to not care about how crappy and unfair their life was. to anyone who cared to read by analyis of the outfits (not the actual song meaning) thank ya.

Here’s my theory! (Quick note: all of the timestamps are only from the ORIGINAL mesmerizer video, so you’ll have to go back to the og video to see the times.. sorry since i copy and pasted it from the other video 😭) 0:36 Teto does sign language for help 1:05 Teto says "Someone, please help" 1:10 Quiz time! The first letter of each word spells HELP. 1:12 The fourth letter of each word (excluding hat) also spells SOS. 1:17 Teto doing sign language for help again 1:20 This part of the song starts going into the hypnotizing. As you can see, Miku seems very concerned and unaware, along with her pupils now gone. She is also swaying to the screen, maybe showing she gave in? 1:30 However, for Teto, she stays still, also looking a bit concerned. The background switches between day and night 10 times, along with the music this time is muffled. This is showing that Teto is resisting the hypnotization. 1:40 Teto is still feeling a bit scared, moments before Miku has her.. "transformation". 2:02 Miku gets hypnotized (A few seconds later, her English subtitles change as they have symbols and numbers in it, etc.), with her eyes black and tongue out. 2:03 Teto is shocked and stops bouncing along with the music. 2:12 Miku still dancing (Very puppet-like) when it’s Teto’s turn. 2:34 Teto gets hypnotized and her eyes turn black at the VERY end. With all these timestamps, my theory is that something is trying to hypnotize both Teto and Miku. As seen in the video, Teto keeps continuously asking for help, because she’s aware and know what’s going to happen. I also think that SHE is the aware one because at 0:14 Miku starts talking about being unaware, and that being aware is shameful. Teto on the other hand, is kind of saying the opposite thing. 0:24 She also says something along the lines of, "THE ULTIMATE ESCAPE", which could be the escape from being hypnotized/the resistance. To sum it all up, I think that Teto has been giving out signs for help throughout the video because she knew about the hypnotization, and didn’t want to be hypnotized just like Miku, who was very unaware (And that’s probably the reason why she got hypnotized first unlike Teto).

so i got this from another comment on another analysis, but- what they said is that the coi swinging could allude to the fact that we have to look back and forth to see the person who's currently dancing, but teto wants you to keep your eyes on her because a) she wants her cries for help to be heard b) the "back and forth" motion could be you yourself being hypnotized, so she wants to save you too.

I interpret the symbolism of this song to be something like this: they talk about unhealthy coping mechanisms to deal with boring life when Miku gets hypnotized its like she gets "addicted" to said coping mechanism and continues to say the morbid stuff about life's meaning meanwhile teto resisted the hypnosis meaning she doesn't wanna give in to unhealthy coping mechanisms and talks about how its better to live life in the "boring" way than to be like miku also miku's behavior after being hypnotized is similar to when someone is hung, she also is the only one wearing a choker so maybe at the end when teto is hypnotized it symbols that miku died and now teto fell into the trap through grieving at the end instead of being encouraging like the first line teto kinda follows what miku says by the "dont stare at reality, it'll make you blind" thing this could have no relevance to the song's actual meaning but it makes sense in my head lol

My thought about teto... Okay, so yes, the screen swayed side to side like miku's but as you can tell, Teto didnt follow the swaying of the screen, instead she stayed still and blurred her eyes to avoid being hypnotised, and i thjnk the shut down part was cut off cause Teto's control of her body didnt get shut down unlike Miku's. And the parts where she asked for help WERE calls for help, tand also, when Miku went insane, teto stopped bobbing up and down for a few seconds, and Miku didnt even stop dancing when it was Teto's turn. Here are things you missed :)!: 1. i do personally think that the creator is asking or calling for help because they created this... Idk if im correct, but i do know that some people (who have gotten kidnapped or whatever.) post videos that are technically like this. Maybe, maybe not, but could i be right??? 2. At the start , it showed that miku and teto's eye pupils were diamond. But at 0:43 miku's pupil's are oval shaped, I think this could mean that she started to slowly fall for the illusion for a second at this part. But like you said, teto came and snapped her out of it, causing her pupils to go back into diamond. 3. At 1:27, not only did teto sign help, but miku signed please in ASL. maybe here she was also aware of what was going on for a short moment. 4. At 2:16, the big word it showed apparently meant "the development of a brain or lung tumor", i'm not really sure :,). 5.
