Screens are what people want and Audi did an excellent job of integrating them in the dash and making it look good.

I love everything about my b9 sq5. The TouchPad in front of the shifter instead of a touchscreen is awesome

The gear shifter on the B9 just feels wrong compare the B8. That's my only complaint

I agree. Very ergonomic and less distracting

thank you so much for mentioning my comment to you a few weeks ago about the brake caliper's! you make a great point about the braking not being that much better but disappointing none the less. Great video keep up the helpful content

Nice and well thought review. I completely agree with your view on the SQ5
@KenB-j6z3 ай бұрын
Totally agree on most dislikes. I’ve had 2 SQ5’s and love them both. I have a 22 ultra blue. Love it. The rear end on the 25 is messed up. The defuser needs to be lowered. The busy machined finished rims that Audi is putting on all their new S models. Hate them. They do not set the car off. Will have to see what the US market gets.

The x3m comp is the best thing on the market at the moment for this segment. Been an Audi guy all my life and still am but bmw is just killing it ( I also like bmw just as much) and I’m on the market for an x3m at the moment and I know you got one already so I can’t wait for the videos of the x3m to come out 😉 sorry for the spoiler alert 😄
@tv3211234 ай бұрын
What in the actual Fck are you going on about? X3M comp? Apart from fast SUVs being stupid in the first place. And the endless hilarity of a 'competition' SUV. An X3M comp cost 50% more than an SQ5. I would hope it's better for 50% more. An SQ5 competes with with a X3M40.

Single piston brakes??! Good for 1 stop then overheat. Didn't the B9 SQ5 have multi-piston calipers?

Yep, 6 piston Akebono (not brembo) brakes, up front.

Agreed. Not digging the b10. Have a b9.5 sq5 (with real sport exhaust). One of the best cars I’ve ever had. Was excited to see the new sq5 roll out and very disappointed. Agree about the rear end and I also hate the toggle switch shifter. Seems to me like the mild increase in horsepower could lead to a RSQ5?? If so that could be interesting if changes are made for it.
@cidermonster744 ай бұрын
Thanks Eli for you're insight into the new b10 sq5. Always wanted an SQ5, but got a standard b9 q5 sline. Thinking I'm gonna hold onto it until audi and the car market sorts it's head out.

I feel like Audi really peaked on the S models in the 2010's. At least RS models have fared better.

2010s? It was barely a beginning of proper S journey.

Glad you said it. This and the B10 A5/S5 have been disappointing at best. I think you're right about the exhaust tips. Clearly a last-minute thing they tacked on to calm the backlash of the fake stuff.

I was at a point where I was going to trade in a Q5 , waited for the press release and was disappointed. Decided to buy a 2024 SQ5 in district green. I wasn’t a fan of the new styling, the interior and screens looked a bit like every other Asian car brand (albeit slightly more premium) and I hated the lack of physical controls. All to say, happy with the older model.

Okay, let me give my unbiased opinion on a car I’ve never driven. That makes my opinion even more solid.
@leecook79044 ай бұрын
I feel the same. My biggest gripe is the center console MMI controls. You could get rid of the radio presets and possibly the hard buttons for nav and such but leave the big wheel and small volume buttons where they were in the b8.5 and b9. I’ll be moving away from Audi strictly because of this until they realize the error of their ways. It’s a shame because their design is what I’ve always loved.

I bet they’re planning on an RS Q5 this time around. It makes more sense than the RS Q3.

I'm satisfied w/my 20 B9 SQ5. I'd be happier if I hopefully find a B8 Sepang blue later on that's been cared for later on. Just seing the exterior photo alone, it's pretty obvious Audi's target buyers are "suits" -not enthusiasts

Yeah!! That whole inner door handle set of switches, doesn't match the window buttons. Basically looks like LEGO designed that whole door card. As far as looks?!?!?!?!?!? NO, I do NOT like it either. Brakes, as a single piston?? Because their polling/reasoning is; Most SQ5 owners are possibly soccer moms. Which also means not spirited driving.... Which also means, if you want spirited/track driving, MOST enthusiasts will upgrade, at least the front braking system(Enter exhibit 00:08 of this video). Great/quick video idea Eli... Well not just a video idea, but a way to voice your opinion. One that has most of us puzzled as well.

Can someone comment if you can tune/mod a hybrid car? The Audi hybrid systems are very, very finnicky from what I've heard and I'm wondering if you could smack a bigger turbo onto a hybrid Audi engine. I mean, it stands to reason that you could...but whenever hybrids are involved, logic goes out the window. I agree with your views on this one...especially the rear-end styling. I think I'm still happy with my B8.5 SQ5
@Kiss__Kiss4 ай бұрын
Yeah, the million dollar question/word there is, "Audi." As BMW has had their 48v MH system in their M340/M440 etc./vehicles, and people have been upgrading without a hiccup.
@Matt-rk3de4 ай бұрын
The decision to go with the 7-speed DCT is my biggest concern. If both the 2.0 & 3.0 are using, then it probably is not rated for a lot of torque. Also the current 7-speed is clunky, sloppy, and feels weak.
@TheAsfv3 ай бұрын
Just to let you know there are different dsg that are rated for higher torque figures. Not all 2.0 and 3.0 share the same dsg, most notably the dsg in vehicles with a transverse engine configuration are different than those with longitudinal engine configuration. A DL501 or DL382+ would be more than suitable for this application especially with a dsg tune. There’s no denying that they’re clunky though, especially in traffic. I guess that’s just a dsg for you hahaha.

Audi needs to upgrade to a 10 speed!!! That would be the MOST impressive change!

This looks very JDM exterior wise. Specially Lexus like. The front grill looks very Americanized with the hexagon shaped overly larger and bolden. Very similar to what Ford does on each new f150 model. The only thing that will save this is if the B10 has something really special with the engine.. But the last time they did that was is the B5 2.7t or RS3. So my hopes aren't high.

I really do not like the push button shifting. They took that from Honda/Acura, and that is a main reason I won't buy a Honda/Acura. Cars are not meant to be 'fly by wire' like modern aircraft. They're meant to be driven.

Have they put real exhaust tips as standard or are these still crappy fake tips. I have had 3 Sq5 - 2016,2019 and driving a 2023 . Will not drive another with fake pipes…. Had to upgrade the 23 at a cost if $2500. Come on audi, you can do better than that- it’s the only car in the their S line up with a fake exhaust !
