My Thoughts on the NEW December 5th Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Ban List!

It actually makes sense when you think about the MD business model - release super powerful deck, annoy everyone that isn't willing to pay for super powerful deck for a month, do a ban on just enough cards to make it beatable again for a month, release new super powerful deck, yadayadayada. The flavor of the two months atm is Tenpai, only that deck is absolute crap because it only does one combo, can't really be mix-n-matched with other engines, and only works if you load it up with a ton of handtraps to prevent your opponent from setting up anything that can disrupt it. Konami goofed in that the deck is so weak that if they limit any of the actual, what is it maybe 8 Tenpai cards? Anyway, limit any of those and the entire deck is a brick pile. So they need to nut it a bit without actually ruining it so that everyone paying to win won't feel like they wasted their money, so they went after the hand traps. Go into the replays and look at any of the Tenpai deck lists in there, and you will see every card on the list in every one of those decks.

Any card that can stop someone from playing the game, and can be activated immediately turn 1, are imo bad cards (Skill Drain technically activates turn 2, but it may as well be). I will not miss Shifter if it ever becomes forbidden.

Banning prosperity would make us play extravagance. Which means people need to get extra copies of any extra deck monsters so they won't accidentally banish them. Dragoon would probably be unbanned at the next pack release.

Every single card hit was played in tenpai i got hit with gamma and shifter allot and they opened lightning storm droplet on me alot. I'm in master 5 right now and haven't been playing because it's stressful I do want to hit master 1 but the stress is too much

I wasnt using shifter.. but I was using PoP.. So maybe I’ll put the limit 1 shifter in the deck instead of PoP 🤔 They didn’t hit any part of my Tenpai deck besides PoP Edit: or I could just throw a couple dark holes in the deck lol

@ shifter keeps most decks in check imo, the meta nowadays is just one card combos and most of them can go throught multiple hand traps and still end on a 2 or 3 board negates where ur opponent has no chance of even playing the game itself. I find shifter is a good way of keeping those decks in check. Meta decks nowadays can still put a somewhat decent board under shifter imo if you’re a good enough player. nothing too crazy but at least both sides has a chance of playing the actual game. I don’t play shifter myself. I play a rogue deck, and I do use the graveyard a lot, tbh when I play master duel I hate maxx c more than shifter lmao. When someone shifters me I’m not even upset ngl. It is what it is lol.

Gamma is bs, you could be playing a normal deck. And people will gamma, ash, and then imper and then you can't play
