I love my wested raiders jacket. Unfortunately it's too hot where I live to wear it very often. I usually wear it when I'm watching an Indy movie by myself. But not for too long cause I get hot and have to take it off.

Question in which movie and which scene does Indiana Jones fedora curl up the most on the sides. Crusade had a cowboy curl in some scenes but I feel the raiders and temple did to at times.

LT Davis it really depends, scene to scene. But in Last Crusade the “Venice” fedora and the “Grail Temple” fedoras have probably the most cowboy Curl on the sides

All of those Jackets look amazing. My personal favorite is the First one you showed,... the Wested Leather Raiders Jacket, but they all look really good. I’d like to get a cheaper version also so I can weather it. I’ve heard Acetone works good to get that weathered look. Someday in the very distant future I hope to get a Wested Leather “Raiders” jacket for myself. ( I have the Last crusade/Crystal Skull version from Wested now.) - A Penman Everyman Hat is still at the top of my Must Have list for now. 👍🏻

If you want a custom made 100% Portuguese beaver felt hat for basically the same price as the Everyman (which in my opinion is a no brainer option), I’d recommend Brian lalonde at Screencapped leather and hats. I just ordered my Raiders idol grab fedora from him a short while ago. I’d 100% recommend him over the Everyman, though you will have to wait a bit longer than the Everyman. But I firmly believe that it is 100% worth it. So yeah, I recommend checking out reviews of Brian’s hats. He is an amazing hat maker, and definitely worth consideration over the everyman

I own the same jacket as the third one you shown (FZ Merchandise) and its great. I only changed buckles on side straps to D rings and I cut up the vents to make it more screen accurate. I did not darken it so it looks more brown.

@@RosePinkInk Great, you won't be disappointed with this jacket. The color though is more regular brown, so it is more accurate to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull jacket than Last Crusade jacket, but you can always darken it if you like, either with the help of a professional or by yourself. To make it screen accurate you will just simply have to unstitch the straps with buckles and replace them with D rings and sew it back. This is hard to do because this leather is thick, so unless you own machine for leather (Again I would suggest professional to do this. You can ask a local shoe maker/repair to sew this small strap back since they have correct tools for this) you will have to sew it back by hand. It will take some time but in the end it will look good. For the side vents I just had to cut the stitch where the vent is supposed to be and then I used scissors to cut vent open BUT there is lining sewn in at this area and by not being careful enough you can damage the jacket too much, so if you are not skilled in this I would suggest that you just unstitch the part where the vent is supposed to be or you can ask tailor to make vents deeper. Either way this is great Indy jacket for its price. Mine is 7 years old and it was worn through rough terrain, soaked wet multiple times and scratched and it still holds well.

Ooooooh. Good question. When I ordered it, I think there was only one option for the cowhide, apart from the pre-distressed. So I guess their standard cow. Its undertones are kind of a warm grey.

Check out Alfa Industry’s Jackets they make the real deal military flight jackets. I think the jacket that Indiana Jones wore in the movie was intended to look like a surplus Army air Corps pilot jacket.

Hey Kirk, sweet jackets. Ive been wanting to pull the trigger on ordering the Raiders Hero custom from Wested but I have one concern. My chest measurement with a t- shirt on is 41" exactly. Their custom page for the Hero only list even sizes to select from. It also states in their website that when ordering to give them your chest size as measured, not to increase it by any length since they will add the breathing room on their end. Given i'm a 41", Should I drop down a size and order the 40" or go up a size and order the 42"? I dont want it too tight since I'd probably wear a sweater underneath it but I also don't want to be swimming in it either, especially since the Hero is designed to hang slightly off the shoulders to begin with. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

T P Great question! I normally wear a size 44 but the hero that I recently got from Trent is a 42 and fits just fine. So if you did either of those sizes, I’d imagine you would be okay. Definitely email Wested and see if they could do a 41 for you.

It is always good to run into a fellow Indy collector. All three jackets look superb. I have a few Wested myself and find the Washed lambskin to have a really great texture to it and it is really dark which I think the Raiders and Temple jackets should be. I also have a couple in Goatskin. They have a more brown/gray colour and are thicker which can be useful here in freezing Scotland! Some of my jackets were custom made at Wested. I prefer to have another pocket and also the strengthened gussets under the sleeves although I believe their Temple jacket comes with this as standard. I have picked up other Indy jackets from elsewhere that I got online. One is from Disney land and another from a company called Leather Niche. That jacket looks very much like the last one you showed in your video. It has weathering on it already and the button snap at the collar. I have just dug it out and it also has the same cuts in the elbows too which I never really noticed before you mentioned them in your video. I also love both of those two jackets as well.

* The Raiders hat and jacket are by far the best that Harrison ever wore in the entire series. Most particularly, the hat and jacket that he wore during the "Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Chachapoyan Warriors" sequence of that film. I just think that the look of the hat, and how dark that jacket was is perfect. It's just too bad that they were donated to the Smithsonian Museum of American History. I wish he could've worn them in the other 3 films.

Hey Kirk, you're not alone dude. TOD was the first Indy movie I saw as a kid and I have always loved it. My favorite Indy jacket is also the TOD version, as it looks like it's just been beaten to hell. Could you do a review on that cowhide TOD jacket you have and include some close-ups of the leather grain? I'd love to see that. Maybe it's just me, but the TOD jacket looks like it was made from a thicker more substantial leather, like a cowhide or horsehide. I know, I know, all of my research online has suggested that the TOD filming jackets were made from lambskin, but watching it as a kid I just imagined a thicker leather. Also, check out Wested's website. From what I can tell, they are offering a screen accurate TOD jacket for far less than the "Fortune and Glory" jacket offered by Bill Kelso.

Hi Kirk. I just bought the wested Raiders Legacy hero jacket and honestly don't like it don't get me wrong it's well made and nice but the leather is really thin and soft and went to distress it and the so called warm under tone not there and you can't go to much on this because of such thin leather. My old wested from 15yrs ago is better. I don't recommend this jacket if your wanting the distressed look and something to rough house in.

You take a new jacket and your washer in the washer delicate spin dry and put it in the dryer you have to watch it now the longer you put it in the more it’ll shrink but it will look exactly and be exactly like the Indiana Jones jacket when you take some Leather oil preserver and put it there in the corners of the jacket and put a towel over it and then put a steam iron on it to get it flat the edges of the jacket that is ..and the sleeve

Joe Wiseman I’m 6’ 1” and 195lbs. The two Westeds in this video are size 44. The Temple of Doom Jacket was a custom so I had my own measurements for the sleeves, back...etc. to answer your question though, they fit great! I really like how they feel. I’m not too much of a screen accuracy stickler when it comes to where the bottom of the jackets fall on me.
