to avoid that root problem with the basil.... keep a humidity dome over it for most of the grow especially in the winter. Basil needs 72 plus degrees to grow well

They definitely got cold, as low as 62.

Another great video Corey! I’m actually growing butter crunch lettuce hydroponically, my first time. They’re coming out a little leggy. Your amaranth looks PHENOMENAL!!! Thanks again for the video and Happy Friday!! Kelly Golightly 🌱💕🌱💕
@CoreysCave3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kelly! If the lettuce is leggy you may not have enough light. If you are using lights move them closer to the plants.

The salts in the coco binds with the nutrients, and makes them unavailable for the plant. Especially calcium and magnesium. Calmag deficiencies are very common in coco grows. You should clean and buffer your questionable coco. I use calmag in the water I use when i decompress the coco bricks. It seems like a good shortcut for half decent coco.
@CoreysCave3 жыл бұрын
I will give the cal mag a shot. So far the microgreens have loved the coco with General Hydroponics nutrients.

Your nutes look a bit lacking for the lettuce! Try: Per 5 gallons of water Master blend - 10g Calcium nitrate - 10g Epsom salts - 5g
@CoreysCave3 жыл бұрын
Really? I see no sign of them lacking nutrients. What are the signs telling you that? Honestly curious and always open to learn.
@satatik213 жыл бұрын
Well, no signs of them lacking anything I can tell, what I meant is that it's not optimized.The heads are too small.

@@satatik21 It’s Butter Crunch, they look fantastic to me but I have always wanted to give masterblend a shot anyways.

@@CoreysCave Level-up and get yourself some dutch hydroponic nutrients, like Canna. Especially the coco specific one for your microgreens. You wont regret it!

Hi Corey great video! I got another question for you....what would you say is a decent price per pound on broccoli seed? I'm trying to find some reasonably priced *THANKS*
@CoreysCave3 жыл бұрын
I would say $8 to $14 a pound when bought by the pound. The price should drop significantly when bought in larger quantities.

I know this is an unrelated question but, is there a shortage of sunflower seeds right now? If so, is there any concern about the availability of these seeds this year?
@CoreysCave3 жыл бұрын
I have been hearing of people having a hard time getting sunflower seed, especially a good quality seed. I haven’t been growing sunflower lately myself.

@@CoreysCave hey Corey, I really appreciate the open and honest video's you produce! I spent over 20 years as a contractor and the one thing I learned along the way was that what I was doing was not a "Chinese Secret" even though in the beginning I tried to hide my method(s), suppliers, and various legal things like permits, licenses, costs, ets. Once I started opening up about everything through the years I was able to earn more than enough money and make investments along the way to become retired at a young age and now I'm starting a new project and path using the same technics with microgreens as I did before which you are as a younger man are doing. I find it discouraging that others believe that they only need to give a small amount of info and then want to publish a book to give the rest of the info which is ridiculous because this info is readily available. I'm very impressed by you and I encourage you to keep doing what you are doing!!!

Not under my normal microgreen lights but yes they do under the more powerful grow lights

How do you get that amount of amaranth? It looks to be a good weight harvest. I just get 40 gram per tray... ;(
