My Thyroid Cancer Story - Reviewing My Journey Pt. 5 - 01/11/2022

Well sh*t, here we are a video series I didn't think I would have to make, on 03/10/2016 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Dear Joe, This is so sweet, I wrote that I also have terminal thyroid cancer, (non differential), three years in, taking lenvima, radiotherapy, fractured (mets) right femur, had a rod placed and screws at the time, but now the screws have broken near the knee and it’s painful! I now need a revision of the prosthesis in the leg coming up soon. This is so lovely to see you going through past trials and tribulations, it helps to share, we all have stuff going on, it helps with all our anxieties, we are not depressed, you help me with my anxiety, keep up the great work and White collar always, hugs x

Not having to deal with work when trying to survive and live with crippling conditions is such a blessing, I'm happy for you that you have been given room to deal with yourself while this is going on. Hopefully you might be able to handle a white colour (pun intended, I had to fit it in somewhere) job again. I'm retired because of my various diagnoses and chronic conditions and it has been a huge weight of my shoulders, stil, I can hardly imagine how relieved you must have been to not have to deal with work anymore.

They told you, your cancer "was the best to have", with pancreatic Neuroendocrine tumor, I was told the same, it makes me think, they say it to make us feel better. They found a lesion in my lung, a year ago, in Cat scan. Back then, they suspected an artefact, but a week ago, the same spot at the same location was noted again. The Radiologist said to not worry, but I will have to see what the NET Specialist says. White colour for watching through the whole video :)

It must be tough to revisit these past moments but I'm guessing there's some therapeutic value in it for you? The hair colour change is interesting - you might become the first human to have all the hair colours possible! A foolhardy plan maybe but good that you still had the drive to continue doing the things you enjoyed. The 24 hour charity stream(s) will always be a positive memory for me - you've made a huge meaningful difference for the British Thyroid Foundation. I've never really done much *white collar* work (unless you count security in a shirt and tie) - I spend a lot of my time wearing hi vis these days. 🦺
