Paula thank you so much for sharing your time with us. Your booth totally represented your house. Brilliant! I think men just want to drive large things on wheels. My husband has a pickup truck and I understand the feeling of being so far off the ground with that huge windshield. Of course in a van you’re right out front…whoa😮. It takes getting accustomed to that space. I’m happy for you and your success! Dear Doug… my little companion is now 15 years old and I dread the day. He has some health issues but he’s not uncomfortable like you said…I will know. The cat sock patterns are cute. You could use some Doug colored yarn with a pink background or any color. I am so sorry Paula that you had to say goodbye to your beloved Doug. I have been there and know how much it hurts. We all know that when we bring an animal into the family we experience such joy and love with the animal who becomes so much part of the family but we also know that down the road one day there will have to be a very sad day too. It never gets any easier. Carry him in your heart where he will always be. I think the photo you have of Doug is very special and will bring you comfort.

I was so looking forward to seeing you and hearing all about how you got on at the yarn festival. Your stall display looked just like your home and so pretty. There had been a lot of thought and hard work go into this and your lovely items for sale. Your comments whilst travelling were hilarious and sadly , just like my husband and I! Knitting whilst travelling is the way to go. The nursing concerns for others in a crowd were perfectly understandable to me. Nurses find it hard to switch off. So sad for you all without Doug. You have a big bucket of sadness inside you and sometimes it just spills over. X

I will miss seeing lovely Doug and hearing about his antics in the summer. My oldest cat, Smoky, is around 17 and looking very frail lately. I am dreading having to make that decision. At the moment she is still eating her food okay and she purrs when I stroke her or talk to her. But she barely moves from her chair and doesn't bother going outdoors and is quite wobbly on her legs.

Beautiful, sweet little Doug! Oh how my heart sank, I was saddened and heartbroken of the sad passing of Doug, he lived such a long and happy life and he was definitely one of a kind. Cherish the memories, he came from such a loving home. I’ve always said to myself if I could live anywhere as an animal it would be of the home with Mrs D and James. Oh Paula so very sorry to hear about Doug he was a gorgeous cat and will be missed by all of us. We have had to say goodbye to a number of pets over the years and unfortunately it’s not an easy thing to do and sadly comes with owning them. I always say I’m not going to get another dog or cat but we just don’t cope without their company. They bring us more joy than sorrow and I remember that every time I think of them. ❤ I’m so glad that you had a wonderful time at the fair. I don’t get to go to many these days as we live too far away from Melbourne. But glad everyone enjoyed it and you survived the van trip. My mum had a van once and I always felt seasick when I went in it. I found that sitting in the front gave you a weird feeling of sitting almost on the road. I can’t explain it but I think you can understand. My husband wants to buy a van for a motor home and I said make sure it has the engine at the front so I can’t see the road.😂 Well you enjoy your relaxing knitting this week and I look forward too seeing you again soon xx take care xx

Oh Paula I’m so sorry about Doug, he was such a sweet little boy. We had a scare with our 18 year old a few weeks ago but he got better. But, as you say, with old pets you have to keep an eye on them for when they stop being happy and we’re keeping an eye on him. I love your account of the EAYF, it was really interesting and great to see the things you took and hear what you thought about everything. Hi Paula. I'm am so very sorry about Doug. You definitely did the right thing. It's such a hard decision to make but having been there myself,you know when the time is right. I have been watching you for some time now. I don't knit or crochet sadly (my daughter does) but I love your vlogs. My daughter Ellen came to see you on the Saturday at the festival with her friends and they bought the teddy bear project bags. They are beautiful. Keep doing what you do! You are fab! Xx
