Circumstances have caused some positive changes that otherwise might not have been realized. In particular, I love the idea of giving the kids an experience instead of another thing. Makes you think about what do you really need and what you don't. I think that you are a great Mother.

Great you and someone else could custom build. Tiny houses have become so expensive to buy and build. Unfortunately, every one isn't able as I'm a senior aged person looking for peaceful places to live/buy that I'm physically able to keep up.

Totally agree. I _love_ her philosophy on gift-giving. It is so much better to give your kids experiences rather than stuff. If you can afford summer camp or horseback riding lessons or a musical instrument or a day at a water park or ice skating rink or tickets to a professional ball game or ballet performance. These are not only fun but great opportunities to learn and develop and explore what they like and don't like. If you never go horseback riding, you will never know if you have a talent for horseback riding.

You have a great home. When the video first showed it and I saw the extra length on top and thought 'that's a great idea'. When I looked again I saw the height I said 'ooohhh can it get under bridges... (?!?!?). (There are a fair amount of bridges in SoCal.) I love trees too. The front door is really great and the tree on the wall is amazing. You have a LOT of counter space for a tiny. I marveled at the two cupboards section under the stairs that weren't full. I've never seen that in a tiny. LOL. Your place in general is bigger than the average bear. It's great. But mostly what I wanted to say is I heard and understood your commitment to your boys. A lot of women I've met would not have plunked down that close to their ex, even for the kids. You've given them a still very stable home life regardless of the split. They are in close proximity to everyone. You've got the boys close to their grandparents which is good for you as well. You are home schooling them so they are not getting caught up in the Covid Lockdown stuff & possibly losing very valuable time as a lot of kids are, sadly. You are teaching with your words AND actions that life can be normal without 'stuff's for 'stuff's sake'. The 'Experience' instead of presents...stuff, what a great idea. Truly. I'm fairly sure that after the chickens get acquired & housed, you'll be digging up the earth to plant vegetables and fruit. (BTW...Plant some flowers in between rows & along side them too, it helps attracts pollinators.) The kids will see you modeling sharing as well when all the fruits & veg show up. They will love helping with all that. They'll get to see where there food comes from AND how to cook it....teach them as well about all the finer arts of laundry. The greatest gift you are giving them by doing all this though is modeling what a strong, loving, emotionally centered, creative, intelligent, adult, beautiful, woman looks like. So when they are older, hopefully a LOT older, they will know the kind of woman to look for in a wife for themselves. I don't know what life was like for you prior to the split, but you have landed on the correct side of your feet. (I forgot to add resilient. 😄) There is just one last thing to teach your boys. Teach them the kind of men they have to be to earn the love of and deserve a woman like you. You can only do this is by not forgetting this and not settling for anything less. Period. God Bless, Rev. You might want to Google, how do I find a place to park my tiny house, or where can I rent land to put a tiny house. There are lots of people who have this hurdle to overcome, so I hear fr time to time about online sites where you can find people with land good for that.
