It's always cool to see such a nice variety of genres in a list of top books.

Dude this list is fire. Emily Henry over The Three Musketeers. This is why I love booktube. You never know what books you are really going to like. My book of the year was Pet Semetry

This is an eclectic list! Definitely some titles I wanna get to like The Wager and the rest of the Dune series. My favorite book of 2024 was Middlemarch, which funnily enough I finished right at the end of the year, haha.

Yeah, you definitely gained a follower from me. Youve read some books im not interested but book of the new sun and children of dune are 2 of my top 5 books I've ever read! Absolutely incredible stuff! If you like book of the new sun, specifically the being a little confused following this dark story that gets weird and almost dreamlike, try Ice by Anna Kavan. Read it this year and its right on par with those other 2 books for me. Its another book that is hard to explain. Ice has 2 avenues driving the plot: 1) a man is obsessed with a woman until he has her and the back and forth of that 2) a wall of ice is slowly moving across the world and killing everyone in the way. So there is this constant tension throughout the book with these dreamlike hallucinations. Absolutely incredible stuff!

Cool to see romance books on your top 10 list! I’m not a big romance reader but I read Book Lovers by Emily Henry last year and loved it-might pick up Beach Read next. My favorite last year was A guide to being born by Ramona Ausubel. ✨

My favorite book this year was definitely The Crippled God. Such a sweeping, emotionally charged, beautiful, epic ending to the greatest series I've ever read. My favorite non-Malazan book this year is one that I read only a month or two ago actually, called Heroes Die by Matthew Stover. Toasty, if you get the chance, you MUST read Heroes Die at some point in your life. It absolutely blew my lid off and yanked me out of my post-Malazan heartbreak. Ignore the cover, though as it's pretty terrible (famously so), it doesn't do justice to the level of writing that this book achieves even in the slightest. I'd recommend getting it on kindle as the second book in Acts of Caine is almost impossible to find on paperback for some reason, in case you are picky about having all of the books in one series in the same format. Happy New Year!

Hello, my favorite book of the year was Thirst for Salt, it's a melancholy romance, I really recommend it, beautiful atmospheric prose. I've been wanting to read My Cousin Rachel because I loved Rebecca, but Frenchman's Creek sounds lovely as well and I've never heard of it.

My favourite non fiction last year was The Gene by Siddharth Mukherjee. it's demanding but so rewarding for a science dunce like me. My favourite fictions include- Conclave and Precipice by Robert Harris (oh the man can write thrillers and character studies like no one else!) and a special one was Hearts Aflame by Johanna Lindsey - a romance that had me hooked from start to finish. Plus it was a viking romance and anything viking or roman has me excited in anticipation. I'm sure there were others I liked too, but I've been bad at noting my reads. I'll be better at recordtthem this year; even if for nothing else than to let you know about my favorites next year😂. Oh and I definitely loved David Grann. His killers of the flower moon was great too!

Excellent list! My favourite book of the year was Bunny by Mona Awad. Very much written for a niche audience, and that audience was me.

Great video. Not sure if you've since read on from Children but I hope you finish the series including the last 2 written by his son, would love to hear your thoughts. I read 111 books this year and my favorite was Bluebeard by Kurt Vonnegut, one of those books that I can't believe I don't hear more people talking about, or maybe I'm just crazy, 10/10 for me.

I read The Shining for the first time this year. Not only was it my favorite book of the year, but it’s one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. Also, do you plan on reading God Emperor of Dune? I hear that one is really good. I haven’t read it yet myself, but I plan on it.
