My top 10 criterion picks that I own are: 1. Ingmar Bergman's Cinema: Just got this one in the sale, been waiting to buy this for years, finally pulled the trigger. 2. Last Temptation of Christ: My favorite Martin Scorsese film. 3. The New World: My favorite Terrance Malick film with a great directors cut included. 4. The Before Trilogy: Not the best packaging in the world, but these are some of my favorite films of all time. 5. The Three Colors Trilogy(Individual packaging): I say this because the films are great, but wasn't thrilled about the set packaging, so I sprung for the individual cases instead. They are great films either way. 6. Thief: Great Michael Mann film, and very impressive for his directorial debut. 7. The Thin Red Line: Another great Malick film, great performances from all. 8. Infernal Affairs Trilogy: If you are a fan of The Departed, you should at least see this trilogy for a great expansion on the original' though again, not the best packaging in the world. 9. Silence of the Lambs: The commentary alone makes it worth picking up. One of the earliest Criterions' released, and still a great pickup today. 10. Until the End of the World: A long film at 4 or 4:30 hrs, but such a passion project for a director that took decades to make. Worth picking up alone for the artistry, outside of it being a great film on it's own.

"The New World" was the only film I ever cut class to go see; on opening day in the next town 30 min awat over with a car of friends (we were all avid history majors). I will have to pick it up now!

I can't believe that the life aquatic is Wes Anderson's lowest rated movie on IMDB it's my favourite one of his

I bet some people gave it arbitrary low scores just because Bill Murray is a bullying douche bag. The people that can't separate the artist from the art.
