I felt so sorry for the lady who kept repetitively stalling at traffic lights. It's so awful that people behind you start honking. I know it's frustrating for them but she is clearly in a 'learner' vehicle. She isn't doing it on purpose. Both her and the instructor can see the light is green, you don't need to honk at them to be like "look, it's green!" All honking will do is make her more anxious and more likely to stall again!

I’m a recently passed driver, (late December) and I stall quite often, I’ve just bought a new car and he’s very quiet. I have a few stories I’ll put up because I can’t chose just one 😂. First one, it was my first time driving the car after I passed, and I only went to the shops a mile away, I got to the roundabout and stalled, but my car at the time chugged forward, the roundabout was clear and I panicked. Next thing I knew a taxi was blaring at me, swearing as I locked eyes with him all the while I was practically howling with panic and my mam was trying to calm me down. We saw him a few days later in our estate and I pointed him out. Next story was at the same roundabout but it was pitch black, second time driving in the dark, and I was on a 40 road going thirty because I was petrified. I was turning right, and this dickhead who got so close to me honked and went around in the left lane rather than wait behind me. It wasn’t bad, or scary, but it made me feel like such a shite driver. Another happened today actually, I was at a busy roundabout that has six exits and this bloke got so close to me I could see the mole on his nose in his car. I hesitated after missing a chance to go, he blared on his horn and cut me off when I did get out less than ten seconds later. There’s been so many more chances where my mam has told me to more gas and I’ve been terrified, mid panic, especially on hills because I panic way too much and grip the steering wheel with a new found strength. People see the green P’s and get so far up my arse end that I panic and that makes me stall or roll back, its not cute or funny, more than often it’s made me feel like a shit driver. I have so many more stories I could tell, even ones from my mam when she was driving with thr P’s on when I’ve been at uni. 😊

If you start panicking after stalling You simply just shouldn't be able to get a driver license. You'll never be a good driver and if shit hits the fan, you'll 100% panick just as you did in mock.

@@BoatLoadsofDope Stalling can happen to anyone, my mam who’s been driving thirty year stalls sometimes. With experience you get better when you stall, now I don’t bat an eye I just make a funny comment and turn the engine back on. I recalled in one of my driving lessons, I stalled at a traffic light, so the driver behind was pressing his horn loudly which made me even more nervous, and finally, my instructor stepped out of the car to go after that driver. I am sorry to say that these kind of drivers are indecorous because they were in our shoes and now they cannot even give us one single minute to correct our mistake. Nonetheless, they should not do that at all, because the theory test proclaims that you should always expect a learner to make an error so BE PATIENT. I am irking when they see them react inappropriately to learners. I am a learner, but I will never respond in that way in future when I become a good driver. But anyway, thank you very much for your helpful videos!!!

Took my car out for a drive two days ago. Approached a roundabout, at a bridge that is usually not that busy on weekends but that day it was chaos. So many cars entered the roundabout, one after another that a couple of times of trying to proceed, couldn't because more cars started to appear. Had to wait out for a bit but a man driving a Golf 2 behind me couldn't resist not to honk at me. Since I'm 1.5 years with a probation license (in November I'm finally getting rid of it), of course, I have the L (P here in Serbia) sticker on my windows but that did not stop the Golf driver of being an impatient asshole.
@Cinetyk8 ай бұрын
This is very true, any more experienced driver with any sense deep down knows that honking or otherwise being more aggressive with the situation will only makes things worse. Honking in the first place should only be used where there is immediate danger. If you see a sign indicating the car is marked as "learning" in some way, you need to be patient.

I remember my driving test, I thought I 100% failed because of so many minor mistakes, and when the examiner said I passed holy shit I thought I was in a dream, it took me few seconds to process what he actually said and passed with 7 minors (stall, few mirror checks). And honestly, before the test, I watched so many driving fails, so then I would know what not to do on the day.
@mydogeatspuke3 жыл бұрын
Same lol, I got 10 minors on my second test. Just one major on my first, a kerb clip on a reverse park, just barely scraped it and didn't deserve it IMHO but such is life. I was so nervous second time around and couldn't stop making stupid mistakes. They can usually tell the difference between a bad driver and a nervous one, which is why they let you have so many mistakes in the first place. As long as you're safe, ie no majors (or an examiner in a bad mood), you'll pass!

i think many learners (including me!) forget that when changing lanes, you do not need to go as soon as you signal. you also need to have room to comfortably drift into the next lane. i’ve been in the car with too many people that make a very sharp transition into a lane they want to get into. driving is about being able to predict and be predictable.

This is a good video, not only showing the learners mistakes which can be sometimes expected, but also how to avoid them too👍. Still, lots more I've seen in your videos have looked just as dangerous like that learner going on the pavement at 30mph on the duel carriageway. Great video Pin

I think the reason why that lady was stalling (the one who rolled back) was because she had the foot on the brake pedal when getting the biting point. Because, it's on a hill, I would've put my handbrake on, so I could use the gas pedal at the same time as the clutch, as you would've had no chance moving off without using that gas pedal

1:43 This candidate seems to have positioned very well for waiting at a roundabout. If you study her steering she steers right as she moves off instead of doing a straight start. Then as she heads directly at the island she needs a lot of left steering to avoid mounting it. This is subtle but it slows her down significantly in terms of progress while everyone else catches up. A straight tangential approach to the island with increasing acceleration is a lot better in dropping the vehicles behind you and staying in lane and correct road position and getting your speed up. As she goes around the island she is very slow and vehicles will catch up easily. It is hard for others not to catch up! So when she looks in the mirror they are all there. Probably the best "get out" of this if you do it this way and were on test is re-circulate around the roundabout and increase your speed a bit.
