Great list Ron, but I always wonder why when discussing sound quality, your criteria always seem to be limited mostly to bass, volume and vocal clarity. Although these are important factors, I personally would like to also hear about imaging, soundstage, timbre, sibilance, etc. as all contribute to the overall audio experience. I think it's great that you review so many different offerings out there, making buying decisions easier, but would definitely appreciate a bit more comprehensive criteria in your future reviews, thanks.

Agreed. Soundstage and imaging is very important. The status 3anc have amazing bass but very weak soundstage which made me return them. Soundcore liberty 3 pro and 4 have insane soundstage but sibilant highs.

For best sounding I would go Gemini 2, Az80, status, perl pro I recently bought the new nothing. Out of the box they sounded so so. But after the personal sound adjustments they are one of the best sounding. Please don't sleep on these.

your top 10 is a bit weird how come soundpeats opera05 made it to the top 10 and status between 3anc not. The status was first on your 100-200 list and the soundspeats was 2nd.

The 3ANC is tied at the top of my list with the Denon PerL Pro. And this list is my best overall top 10. Meaning, the Opera05 are second best in the $100-$200 category, they're were they are on my overall list.

The az80's which do sound hella good can't move up because they are priced wrong. And i suspect the same of the audio technica 9 ( haven't heard them) The status ANC got the game chopped and screwed.lol They sound too good for the price you can get them for. The other companies should be ashamed. Blatant money grabs. The perl pro do the same at their price range. Why is the Gemini 2 that price with the perl pro on the scene?

I did listening to them pi7 s2, was not impressed . sennheiser momentum tws 4 sounded really good clean and technical but ended up with the denon pearl pro loud warm immersive and musical

Without aptX lossless but just aptX (samsung user), would denon still be ranked 1?

Yes. As an example: the status doesn't have any special codecs. Not lossless, not ldac nothing. Those things come into play when you have the top of the line player. Ie, not your phone. Unless you have one of the few phones on that list that supports lossless. Or a hi rez standalone music player. It's levels to this shit.

Yeah i know. Just wondering what device RonOnTech used and what music streaming service (Tidal?) he used as well. Planning to get a Gemini 2 but if aptX Lossless really doesn’t affect the rankings, i might save a couple of bucks on Denon instead. Rather hear from Ron himself 😉
