he had never shown any sort of effection toward her, until she drank blood he would openly insult her. but he showed in this scene a sort of fatherly affection. or are you referring to the plate armor? if that is the case that is the form he had when we was human or freshly a vampire leading the charge into battle. when his full power was unlocked he took that form since as it was put the "count has returned" i hope this helps.

I love both the original and the dub, but I think the dub wins. Not only do I think it's a bit more logical to have an English cast for a series that takes place mostly in Britian, but the accents aren't stereotipical (besides some less important characters who appear briefly.) The best replacement is for a character who played a pretty minor role: the vampire Priest in OVA 1. I fucking hate the Priest's Japanese voice. It's like he's not even trying. His laugh is the worst thing ever. Though I must say, Alucard's laughing fit in OVA 4 is one part where I think the Japanese actor outshined Crispin Freeman.
