There is another way to determine the rarity of a coaster, a way you didn't mention: go on coaster-count and gauge the coasters you've ridden by the number of riders they have had on that app. It's only a sample of the wider population, but it is an indicative sample of the coaster enthusiast community.

So funny you mentioned Desperado at the end! I was thinking it's one of my rare credits then wasn't sure if it would count. I rode it in the 90s, the thing was demented and made me an enthusiast 😅

Growing up in South Jersey I had plenty of rides on Jackrabbit at Clementon Park, that thing was truly falling apart by the end, I assume enthusiasts didn’t stop by there often but it was such a charming park back in the day, it’s headed back in that direction since Gene Staples though, higher quality experience despite no new rides yet.

I believe the reason Pteradon flyers has the height limit is the painfully low capacity at just around 170 riders per hour
@CoasterDash

In that case, they should allow roller coaster enthusiasts to get a slip from guest services which would allow them to ride. Parks like Cedar Point do that.

I'd say my rarest credits are the mountain coaster at Mystic Mountain Jamaica, the old defunct kiddie coaster at fun spot Kissimmee (only open for 3 years), Pteranodon Flyers, the 2 strickers grove coasters, and shadow stalker by built to thrill

My rarest is probably desert storm at castles n’ coasters. It’s so out of the way of other parks out in a very dry state for coasters as well. (pun not intended) It’s super unique as well with some questionable track profiling and one of only two Hopkins loopers left in the world and I think it’s an absolute blast of a ride

So jealous of you getting to ride Brava and the Axis prototype, those are some very solid credits! My proudest credit currently is Gravity Max at LIHPAO Discovery World. I think that's probably the best I've got in terms of a world-famous coaster that most enthusiasts never get the chance to ride. In terms of what my ACTUAL rarest credits would be, I discovered a hand-built human-powered coaster at a playground that wasn't on RCDB prior to my visit, so that was cool (although it was tiny and nothing special), and I've been invited to ride a semi-famous backyard coaster soon as well! Great video, and looking forward to the follow-up!

Pteranodon Flyer is sincerely one of the scariest rides I've ever ridden. I never rode it as a child but I have as a parent. The scary factor is very unusual. You see, there is basically a high loose seat belt and a pretty loose T bar. And I rode it with my 3 year old daughter who of course sat in front. But you are far enough away from your child that if they tried to get out of their restraint you'd never be able to reach them. And seriously, this would not be a difficult restraint to get out from as a child if a child was determined. It is almost like riding a ski lift but if you had to sit in the gondola behind your child who sat alone. I mean, it's not quite that unsafe but it's not that far off. So it was terrifying but only because I was worried if my 3 year old decided to do something dumb.

I'd say my rarest credits are travelling coasters that are unique (so no spinning wild mouse). Olympia Looping, Eurocoaster and Alpina Bahn come to mind. Some coasters that are now long-defunct, such as Efteling's Pegasus, their original Dinn wooden coaster. The only coaster with a brakeman I've been on is the Wiener Hochschaubahn. Also oddities such as De Waarbeek's Rodelbaan, a unique coaster at an out-of-the-way park. I guess Matterhorn Bobsleds is also an unique coaster, but it's at a very popular park.

I think its Wildfire in Komarden. The park is hard to reach for most people and requires a big drive out of central europe, so its off most peoples europe-tours. My most obscure must definitely be the rollercoaster I rode at Furuvik as a child. Looking it up on rollercoaster databases there are no photos and nothing is known of when it was built, who built it or exactly when it closed. I remember it being fun but very intimidating as a kid. But most likely it was only a family coaster. 😄 I also rode the classic wood coaster at Liseberg in the late 80s. That coaster is close to my heart because it's a coaster my dad rode in the 40s! It kind of make it a historic bond between us since we both rode it as kids. I also rode a coaster in a small park (Boom ka boom) in the Philippines that I hope has been demolished by now. Let's just say it wasn't westerner friendly. As a rather tall Swede that ride almost broke my back. The most terrifying family coaster I ever did, for all the wrong reasons.

I'd love to see you visit some of the parks we have here in Italy, and hear your thoughts about them! We have Gardaland (my homepark and the one that made me an enthusiast) and Movieland for the theming, and Mirabilandia for the coasters (Katun and ISpeed are easily the best in the country). And if you plan to visit Rome we also have Magicland and Cinecittà World. I understand we lack the major new coaster to attract people from overseas, we haven't seen a new major coaster in Italy for almost a decade now, and italian enthusiasts are very angry about this. But maybe someday, if you get the chance...
