I dont know if you know this or not, but you can actually start schemes in regions with super agents, just not finish them, so if your heat is getting too high, you can start the heat reduction mission and cancel it at the last second and reduce heat while avoiding supers

Super Agents will only proc when a scheme is completed too. So if you start a scheme, (like to reduce heat before it goes over) but cancel it 1s before it completes (after you've gained most of the rewards/heat reduction) they'll go back to idle state.
@rhyzaum3 жыл бұрын
I never noticed that, very interesting. One thing i struggle with super agents is that some of them no not spawn on the side of the island where they enter the casino but come by the chopper/storage area. How do you handle these guys ?
@kklee063 жыл бұрын
@@rhyzaum Islands 1 and 2 will always have this effect. Super agents and some FOJ will start to come via beach and come up via your helipad by elevator or otherwise. Only thing you can do is plan your base effectively to deal with these.. guests effectively with traps or guard posts. Always building low heat rooms on that side (training, mess hall, barracks etc) is always a good idea too.) Or play my favorite island, number 3 with the helipad in the middle, that forces all visitors through the casino.
@rhyzaum3 жыл бұрын
@@kklee06 It's funny you mention the first tip because i quite disagreed with it. I think it's very risky to have tons of untrained minions near the entrances because if a fight breaks out with lv6 or 9 agents they are gonna butcher your entire minion force. What i've experimented so far is to have a couple traps and my guard room directly at the exit of the casino and i tag investigators as soon as they land on the island. When they come from the helipad, i stop sending crew on scheme to avoid sending minions to the helipad. I post my champion (i chose the son) near the helipad and when the fight breaks out i make him run to the lair, it seems agents in combat will always chase him and run by every minion that could cross the helipad bridge. If you do have low heat rooms near the casino exit, how do you manage the investigators ? Do you wait before tagging them ? How do you lure them from the barracks and stuff to an area where your guards can fight.
@kklee063 жыл бұрын
Well, I play as Ivan with about 1/3 of my minions as muscle minions. I typically just have a big armory (with only guard tables and Camera stations, my weapons are in my basement) near the entrances. So I just wait for the enemies to walk in and deal with a couple dozen brutes with guns and big sticks. The armory can also be a low heat room if planned correctly. I wouldn't tag them upon landing because that would would your workers engaging with them. I just auto tag them when they walk into the place outside of my armory

I'd add that corpses drain moral quickly. On medium difficulty 5 of the first agents can easily kill 10 of your guards and the mess they leave behind is floor full of body bags. Each of these bags will drain the moral of your minions passing by by a bit and thus it is important to clear these halls pretty quick or you will lose some of your minions as they start to desert. This was (or still is) one of my biggest issues after completing the tutorial. The second one being that I have had the whole world covered with outpost and couldn't send out minions as quickly to missions as new missions popped up. Long story short, I have a constant shortage on minions. My lair could support roughly 130 minions, though my counter never exceeds 70 and as the heat builds up so fast, even without doing missions, I'm constantly under attack. I therefore started to add those monitors to reduce the heat, though I need more, More ... MORE!

Nice guide Charlie, gonna restart my game now 😂
@Crimson_Sun2486 Жыл бұрын
I'm well through a Red Ivan playthrough but I plan on restarting from scratch as I feel I made one too many mistakes along the way and it's gotten a bit too chaotic to fix without dumping hours into it. But before I do, I want to ask some advice on what I should do instead of what I did in my current playthrough, hopefully from Charlie himself. 1: I don't exactly see this as a mistake, but after unlocking the stairs, I basically devoted the entire first floor to legal rooms while making the basement exclusively for generators & the vault, each taking up half of the basement space with a corridor hallway in between. On retrospect, after unlocking the megasafe, I should have reduced the vault space and add more generator space. 2: I tried to go for a relatively even number of specialized minions, basically 20 or so for everything except Technicians which I have 30 of to keep like a hundred different pieces of equipment in tip top condition. 3: I waited until unlocking all of the minion types before starting on completing the side missions, something I already learned is required due to reaching the end of a Max playthrough and having not dealt with any of the super agents only for ALL of them to show up at my front door at the same time 4: I have a habit of spending a ton of resources on the world stage for schemes & building networks at the same time, leading to my base being pretty baren and new minions taking quite a while to train up. 5: I built up a TON of items that raise minion stats over 50, hoping that more of these items would mean that more minions would use them more often, all it really seems to do though is force science & deception minions to operate items that nobody's using to restore their stats. Got any advice on how many of these items are necessary to maintain both minions' stats & their productivity? 6: I never actually built many traps to deal with Investigators or other enemies, mostly relying on the cover operation and certain henchman abilities to wear down the resolve & skill of agents and then muscle minions to capture or kill them if they get past the casino. But I think the biggest reason why I don't bother with traps is because they end up damaging minions as well, and I try to avoid that to maintain manpower. Should I just stop caring if minions die as well as Agents or am I basically fine on this one? 7: Finally, I believe I chose the wrong lair when I picked Caine Key, which I had chosen because it not only the helicopter pad is in the center of the island, but all F.O.J. enemies have to come in through the cover operation. But I feel that maybe these pros aren't actually worth the cons, with it probably having the least amount of buildable space out of all the lairs. EDIT: There's one other mistake I forgot to add that's more specific to Red Ivan's story. Using H.A.V.O.C. starts fires in the lair, so I tried to build a *LOT* of fire extinguishers throughout the lair to keep the fires under control, but it seemed that too many extinguishers messes with the minions' A.I., sometimes sending them down stairs to grab extinguishers on a completely different floor, meanwhile my generators are burning down in a wildfire. I plan on making sure the extinguishers aren't built too close to the stairs to mess with the A.I., but should I also limit how many extinguishers I have built in the lair itself?

I really love this game despite flaws... it ticks that old school Bond/Austin Power villain fantasy. Oh I also found it worthwhile to not overexpanding on the world map, its better to have fewer territories and focus on them than having many that ends up in lockdowns eventually. And its also a good idea to tear down them if you need to change position. It costs a bit manpower but It drags less attention and attacks, and it helps to be able to constantly manage them. I found that having to many nets many idle for periods anyway since you often have things to micro everywhere. Untill the times come when you invest research into the purple tech and gain buffs and slow down heat buildup and such. Thats a tip if you feel you get to much attacks and attention scale the presence on the world map down and micro fewer regions.

Very nice video! Just a note on the Super Agents: you can do the slow 20 min heat reducing schemes with minions (not the ones with cash/intel) although sometimes the super agents can generate more heat than you can reduce if you have more than one network within his FoJ they may switch to another network where you are not running any schemes (and at worse they will only lockdown the region instead of coming to your base)

Many video i found say, Take the short Schemes for quick money, But after i see some of you walkthrough. I try mix it up, As only quick Schemes run me out of Minions so damn fast. So i try at the beginning to do 1 X short Scheme, 1 Long Scheme, If i have the spare money after that i pay for reduce heat, If not. I let it go to lockdown for 3 minute ingame, Go so damn fast anyway. When i was better on money i change to 2 X long Schemes, And yes at the end of #2 it go onto lockdown. (some times i stop it and use the money to reduce heat) But i got max money out of it.(I think) This way i only use 6 Minions before lockdown, So i need to keep build lockers, As my Minions go up so fast. And the money keep come in. I only choose one area to focus on in the beginning, What every area that have Muscle (first one i wanted). Was the area i Scout first, That way I only get agent for 1 AI, Was pretty easy to fight back. After upgrade 2 place to level 2 Criminal network, The money come faster then i can use it right now :-) I run out of room, So waiting to Research Stairs, Only have 1 Impact Analyser so take some time, Learn to build more then 1 for next time. Well it work for me to now, And first time i can keep go on, As before i run out of Minions and simple give up :-) Thanks kindly.

I think entrance>traps>security room is best, it ensures soldiers are lowest hp & meet the toughest minions everytime, with your setup they will just run in and kill a bunch of weaker minions. Just because the barracks isn't illegal doesn't mean there's any good reason it should be near the entrance also things that aren't suspicious can still be sabotaged, blown up, catch fire, etc.

If you are talking about symmetra, you need to not do any crimes in the territory she's active in. Failing that, make sure you have a guard center near by with staffed tables. You don't want your minions trickling in and dying one by one. If you need, wait for them to be in a high traffic area. Like I said, first step is not pissing her off.

Jesus I tried to start without the tutorial on hard mode, bad idea. Not worth it XD seems like you need the tutorial to have anychance of building up before enemies come. Without the tutorial you just have to murder a lot of agents for a while till your cover op is up.

If you love torturing the agents to death, Advice #4 doesn't look all that useful. Lol.

Nope. I wrote it myself, and had no guidance from anyone at all.
